Also "The Idiot's Lantern" episode features a creature called "The Wire" that steals people's faces and makes them look all Slendy-fied. I about pooped kittens when Grandma turns around and looks like THIS:

Also: I think the strange book on the corner of Alex's desk is some sort of children's fairytales book or something. Yanno, one of the old ones that isn't all fun and happy, but dark and scary? Or something that explains the given mythos of the Operator. Basically - I think Alex was doing research in one of his more "present" moments.

Also -- does his computer appear to be in pieces to anyone else? Like he's working on it or fiddling with it somehow?

Just like the Brother Grimm stories with the original "Mother Goose"/fairy tales. They are dark and twisted, unlike their Disney counterparts told to children.

I shat Bricks when I saw Slendy-Granny. Laughing

But if that book was in fact a history/the original fables of The Operator in ancient times that would mean that he was in ancient times which could mean that It may have no real goal other than to stalking (and killing?) its victims for its own sick enjoyment (or just out of instinct like an animal.) Which in turn would shoot down the idea that It has any real reasoning behind its targets other than sustenance or Instinct and the like. /crazy spec Shocked

My theory: I'm thinking that entry 44 where it seems that Slendy takes Alex may have been the final steps to completely taking him over. The next two entries (45 & 46) seem to emphasize the fact that Alex can't see Slendy anymore. In 45, he obviously doesn't see Slendy save his ass, and in 46 he doesn't see Slendy even though he's right there.

I think the same thing may have happened with Tim. And I think there may be different levels to the Slenderman mind control. It might go something like this:

Level 1 symptoms: slendy still visible and stalking, drawing(?), paranoia, slendy sickness.

Level 2 symptoms: Abduction, Acting different after abduction. memory loss(?)

Level 3 symptoms: Slendy not visible. Still ongoing abduction(?), Some symptoms may carry over.

Level 4 symptoms: Complete takeover. You are his pawn and he can do what he wants with you.

So it may go something like this:

Jay: Level 2 (Level 3 in Entry 17 apparently.)
Alex: Now, Level 3
Tim: Level 4, just what I think.

If that is true, it scares me to think what TO does to those in level 4. Shocked

For the people debating the Christmas lights: The "7 months memory loss" gap takes place from April 21st until November 23 (I posted a timetable with months on page 33). If we follow it then Entry 43 COULD take place between May and November. But since Jay tells us he goes over all the tapes chronologically + seeing how early it is in their investigation (It's the first time they go to the house and Jay still trusts Alex) I think it's safe to assume it's still May.

Now come to think of: since Jay is going over the tapes chronologically this could mean that from now on we will see a division: the tapes from the HD (chestcam) which will go on from 3 months after the initial meet up with Alex and the normal tapes from (Jay's and Alex's normal camera) which are still only a few weeks after the initial meet up.

I hope I'm making some sense here Razz

Some people actually do keep their Christmas lights on all year. Yes, people are that lazy.

If Level 4 makes you his pawn, and Tim is level 4, why would the operator use his pawns to attack his other targets? Tim has attacked both Alex and Jay, although with Alex each time was like he was trying to kill him and with Jay it was to just scare him.

I wish we knew more about how Tim came around to being Masky. The only other cast member to go around with Alex (that we have video of) and get caught by the operator is seth, right?

Yes but Seth was seemingly tackled off camera and/or killed in The Operators "lair".

The Operator "You dare bring cameras into my lair!? YOU MUST DIE!"
*Seth Dies*

I have been toying with a theory that they're more like worshippers than pawns - or, to be more specific, like "children" competing for the affection of a beloved parent. Tim wanted to get rid of Alex because Alex was competing with him to be Slendy's favourite.
