I dunno, I'm pretty sure 70% of the dialogue in The Device was the word "fuck".

It's over 9000!!!!

Plus I REALLY like the fact that a whole bunch of the Slendy-blogs got together and made crossovers. Like EMH on it's first birthday Blog Post got comments from most of the major Slendy Bloggers (even M himself!) and even now is crossing over with TribeTwelve. Plus Evan appeared in one MLA video. It's too bad Troseph turned down their offer to crossover. That would have sealed the deal for me.

Seriously, Marble Hornets crossing over would absolutely kill Marble Hornets for me. 've always liked that Marble Hornets was in its own universe, its own Slenderman. It gives the story more focus. For example, I'd rather have more Nolan Batman films than I would have more Avengers films. The novelty of having these crossovers wears off after awhile.

I dunno, I just like to think that it's cool that while Slendy is stalking someone on one blog, he could also be stalking other bloggers.

Basically my point is that I am mystified that all of the Slendy Blogs are taking place simultaneously and in the same universe.

Well, not all of them are. MH is definitely in its own universe, although EMH acknowledges it as a work of fiction within their universe (which crosses over with TT). TJ&A crosses over with 5zero2 (partially due to RL connections between their cast) and possibly outsideagents, and maybe, maybe EMH (Evan cameo, its never stated whether this is OOG or IG Evan). Then we get into the Core Theory blogs, which I think were their own microverse as things tend to go super off-the-rails.

Hmm... I always just assumed that all of them except MH were in fact sharing a universe. You learn something new every day eh?

Who else thinks a MH or Slender Man video game could be interesting if done right?

It would be fairly linear, but the concept would be that you have a video camera, and move around areas in first person (with the camera's screen in the lower right corner), trying to capture video of important things, avoid Slender Man/The Operator or any proxies, while finding and collecting items important to the story.

While playing, the only way to really know if the Slender Man is near by is to look at the camera's screen which would show minor distortion. However, you can stop at any time to check a tape to see the real distortion, but this is done in real time, so it's dangerous to do this.

"Health" works as two things.
1: Overall mental stability. Seeing the Slender Man, or being attacked by proxies can hurt this, and distort your view, or make the character hard to control (a'la Amnesia).
2: Sickness caused by the Slender Man, which would include coughing, which shakes the screen and makes it hard to aim, fatigue, which blurs vision and makes you slower, and if you've reached the final stage, seizures.

Avoiding danger for a little bit will refill "health".

Combat is only against proxies, and that's with random melee items that you have/find, such as a flashlight or a knife.

Important items:

-Batteries for camera and flaslight. If your camera dies, you have no way to detect Slender Man proximity in real time, aside from sickness. Flashlight is self-explanitory.
-Tapes for camera. If you don't have anymore tape available, you can use real-time detection, but you can't use more advanced tape-checking.
-Pills, which would be the only health-related item. They would lessen the effects of sickness and mental instability, temporarially, however.

This is all I can think of at the moment.

If done right, a Slendy/Marble Hornets game would be awesome! But I always toyed with the idea of a Creepypasta game where all (popular) Creepypastas are real and you are trying to survive them while interacting with the major players in their canon/blogs etc.

But yes, if done right that would make for a hugely successful videogame.

So like a cross between the old Myth games (Finding clues and solving riddles, etc) and Amnesia: The Dark Descent (Sanity level, batteries/tapes instead of Lighterfluid, pills instead of notes) and the monster could be Slenderman, so that when you see it the screen starts shaking violently and all distorted and if you don't run away fast enough, you'll pass out and wake up a long time later, having lost a lot of stuff and in a different location. Also Masky could stalk you. And you could get phone updates from TTA etc.

Very nice. I like it.
What would some of the levels be?

Maybe a task would be tailing Alex at some point. Depends on who you play, I suppose, though I'm assuming you play as Jay.

The trip to the Red Tower would definitely be an interesting one, and even the journey through Rosswood Park...

Edit: Hah, I didn't even see the mention of Amnesia. I love that game. It would definitely match up with the MH game.

I am officially pumped for a game that probably will never exist. Very Happy

Masked characters are proxies. You can fight them, but they get away, so you can't kill them.

TTA/Oberver/HABIT/whatever videos/responses/hints/whatevers could be found as papers tapes (that you can play on your camera) or discs that you can play on a computer if you can find one.

It wouldn't be like Amnesia in that, if you die due to proxy attack, you're dead. Restart from checkpoint.
If you "die" from mental instability or sickness, you pass out for a small amount of time, and things around the area have changed slightly, and some batteries/tapes/pills may be gone, as well as tapes you've recorded on.
If you have direct contact with the Slender Man, you lose items, take a massive hit to mental stability, increase sickness, and wake up somewhere in the area.

If it's based on Marble Hornets, levels could be investigations of Brian's House, traveling to the Red Tower, vehicle levels following Alex, running through Alex's new apartment, exploring Rosswood Park.

Idea: Rosswood Park chapters could be free-roam, and you have a cell-phone map of the area telling you where you need to go.

So this plot for the video game would need a much more stable structure than the series has now.
We can't be like, "Here go to this place! Ooo something scary happened! Okay, next part."

I'm pretty sure if we wanted to right now, we could come up with the whole walkthrough of the video game right now. All the way up to the current Entry or whatnot.

I'd have to think that the game would have to start in medias res, waking up (perhaps in a closet) with no memory, and a camera with a few tapes. Also, maybe, a bottle of water.

I'd have to think that there should really be some serious Interface Screw while playing and subject to SlendyPresence. Although I've not played it, I'm thinking like what I've heard of Eternal Darkness.

Sleep, or lack of it. There should probably be an insomnia mechanic, where you actually have to force your PC to sleep. Which, of course, can lead to dreams or sleepwalking.

I might include upgrades to the camera, such as a viewscreen, or night vision, or rechargeable battery, or a camera that doesn't require tapes.

This would really be a game where the cutscenes (like finding TTA videos, or other found footage) would require a cutscene galllery - and reviewing it would become a significant portion of the game.

We seriously need to start a Walkthrough for this.

I really think an atmospheric Slendy horror film that abandoned the whole first person camera recording in favor of multiple angle shots would be fantastic.
