I doubt the book is important. Troy and Joseph probably have plenty of books and textbooks, and that may be one that happened to get left in the shot. Just because Alex is being watched by a tall fellow doesn't mean he has no recreational activities.

That said, it could still be important. I won't be convinced unless it comes up again, however.

Well, I think it would kind of depend. It's true that Alex probably does still have some recreational activities--but the thing about the book that struck me as interesting is that the 'men' on it's back cover are clearing wearing suits, and seem to have very blurred, or almost invisible faces. There's a possibility that the book was one Alex was reading to try to answer some of his OWN questions about the Operator. If that is the case--if we were able to find that book for ourselves, it might prove interesting. Smile

Hey everybody!

I think we all know the story by now, long time lurker, first time poster, and so on, and so forth... Anyways, I'm really happy to register with unforum Very Happy I love the Slender Man Mythos, and have been reading through all the pages in this thread as well, when I realized something I don't think has been mentioned before. (No guarantees however, I'm not exactly the most careful reader.)

Has it already come up that Alex's drawings contain two ToTheArk titles from season 1? "Warning" and "Return"? They seem almost singled out, mainly in the case of "Warning", and somewhat so with "Return" (since it's written in way larger letters). I've watched these again, but apart from chills running up and down my spine, I noticed nothing in particular that I think might be linked to recent events. It simply struck me as odd.

Sorry if I'm being redundant! Also, thanks to RainbowsHaven for those screenshots!

I believe "return" was in one of Alex's drawings in S1.

However, the titles of TTA videos could be important words and phrases. Alex obviously knows things about The Operator that few else do. This doesn't make him TTA though (even if I am fond of that thought).

I think your right about return, I'm going to go through and see if I can get confirmation.

One of my many, many theories is that TO is a thoughtform that originated with Alex and was spread throughout the rest of the MH crew/anyone that came into contact with him. Thinking about him makes him appear, no matter who it is doing the thinking.

I know this was like 800 pages ago, but I had to address this really quickly: if this was the case, Alex wouldn't have started taping everything and trying to search the Operator out in the original tapes. He would've known what the Operator is if he conjured it up, after all.

I have to agree. If the book were plot important, I'd think we would have gotten a little more indication that it was, especially since Troy hasn't used a book as a plot device yet, it's always been tapes. If Jay had examined it more closely or even picked it up i'd believe it, but unless it turns up again I think it was just a random book.

I had another thought. In another thread, somebody mentioned that every time Jay encountered the Operator, it was more in a "the fuck you what?" capacity rather than a "gotcha bitch" capacity.

What if that is exactly what is happening here?

El Hombre Alto is first spotting peering through the window. It almost looked, to me, as if he was looking in as if "You home Alex?" Then the Big O shows up in the hallway, behind Alex. Was this necessarily malicious? Or was it a "chillin with my bro Alex, what you want Jay?" sort of thing?

Ya know, I'm pretty sure our dear Jay would actually consider that too. Razz

Hey Troy! If you're reading this, can we get a gag reel on the Season 2 DVD of Jay grabbing random objects running out of Alex's apartment for comedic effect? Very Happy

I know the theory that drawing the operator symbol summoned the operator was brought up in the entry 44 thread. Could this picture be indicating that as fact? Like the operator can use the symbol as a eye to see out of?

The book is important

Ok, people generally think that the Troy and Joseph are good at this, right? Well why would you assume that they forgot there was a book on the desk? Or it was an accident? I am not going to say they are perfect, but this is what you do when you film. You make sure everything you want is in the shot, and you make sure that everything else is not. You know they were looking at the desk. The tape was on it. The camera that was filming was pointed at it. So how on earth do people think that the book that was next to the crazy papers and a tape that has figures that look like men where we can't make out faces is not important?

My guess is that is where Alex got his creepy story about Rosswood going fast and using that to execute the criminals or whatever... I'm going to have to figure out what entry that was and watch again.

I think Alex was doing research, got him some scary stories, and then later told them to Jay while they were walking through the woods.

I dunno... I see where you're going with this, but I feel like that logic could be applied to anything that has ever been on camera for three seconds or more. What's the significance of Alex's glasses? What about the painting in Brian's house? Bracelet? Rock?

Honestly, it could be that the book was just to give the impression that the desk is messy. Or... a desk at all. Maybe they're giving the impression that Alex doesn't take the time to follow the Dewey Decimal system anymore because, hi, Operator.

And I'm not sure those are faceless figures... I think, if it were a Harry Potter book, it would still look rather Slendy-like after graininess and motion-blurs.

BONE then 8/10.
What if closets or rooms marked 'BONE' act as teleporters and the 8/10 means it's the 8th of 10 portals?
Blah blah Alex is possessed by TO
I mentioned last thread (45) about in the branches there bbeing some text and on one of the first few pages it matches up to one of Alex's drawings saying 'EYES'.

I thought (and still do think) that it's important. Sad

Not to go all bracelets on you, lol, but the type of key is a WR5, specifically Weiser brand. They only make residential and commercial door locks. That eliminates a ton of different types of locks from the jump. Since it was separate from the other keys, I'm thinking it's either Amy's apartment, his old house, or that boiler room slendy-dimention place
