Except that, if Troseph ever intends to actually use the key on-film, it damn well A) Fit into whatever it goes to in-game, and B) still be the same key. Why bother using a different one if they need to show both key and lock at the same time anyway?

This is pretty much exactly what I thought, too. To me, it just doesn't make much sense for Alex to hang a date up in the closet. If it was a note-to-self-type reminder, he'd put it where he'd see it; doesn't need to be hidden since it's not like it says "To Do on 8/10: Pay elec., Break Masky's other leg, Rosswood @ 2 w/ TO, Call Jessica & say her drunk ass is evicted." And if it was just another scribble page like "Help Me Kill Me," it'd be the only one hanging up in this apartment, unless I missed something.

I was thinking it might be like a station or elevator floor sign for the teleporting closets. If Alex can teleport, but can't control where he teleports to, maybe he'd want quick signifiers to use as references. Especially if the stations all look similar due to the water tanks-- and water tanks do seem to be important for this. There are a few snags in this theory though, one being that we haven't seen evidence of even one other teleporting closet, so assuming there are 10 is a big leap. The second, and what kept me from posting this theory earlier, is an OOG one:

The announcement of upcoming news on Troy's blog. The timing of it makes me think that BONE 8/10 is more of an Easter egg thing for the fans--"Throwing you guys a bone on 8/10." That makes more sense to me than BONE 8/10 being significant to the storyline.

 		@CCA Good point. I think it's Alex's apartment key anyway, so I'm not to concered with that.

Come to think of it, now that Jay thinks the key is for that, we may get a real-time update soon, since he does know where Alex's apartment is/was through the tapes.

THAT would be nice. The key is one of few things that connects the 7 months to real-time.

I had never thought of that, it would be a great change of pace to get a real time update.

Only if he conjured it up consciously and willingly. He could have created and perpetuated it accidentally, not realizing that the entity spreads along with the knowledge of it. He might even be totally unaware of its origins.

 		Its possible the key is to some of the locked doors in "the house"... I don't know why it would be in Alex's house but its a possibility.

 		I don't think it's a stretch to say that it probably IS a house key. I have a Weiser key for my house that looks almost exactly the same, and it's not an uncommon association for people to make. Bronze key with teeth on one side = house key to most people, in the same way that double-teethed black key = car key.

Not a stretch at all, I still think that its a spare for Alex's apartment, or a key of Jess/Amy's house.

 		Is Troseph's new house the one in the most recent entries, or did they get another one? If so, the key could go to a new house/set.

OOG, but I'm pretty sure that isn't their new hosue since they JUST moved into the new house, and this appears to be the same apartment house thing as in Joseph Writes a Paper. The key probably doesn't go to the new set, seeing as how they showed off the key back in November, and that was almost a year ago.

I'm currently working on fleshing out a theory involving Amy being taken by the Masks/TTA rather than Slendy and Alex doing sort of a Faustian deal with the enemy of his enemy to get her back.
