Is OP updated with all the new ideas? I'm just going to read off that mostly and photoshop a few game screens so I don't want to miss anything that was a good idea but wasn't on OP.

Looks good. I like the use of the Operator symbol.
However I feel the screen is way too small if it's going to be used for distortion detection and possibly the only way to see the Operator properly.

When I saw this I thought make do like Fallout 3 and have camera be 1st person, and have the ability to go 3rd person too.

I imagine that there would be a way to zoom in on the screen. iwas thinking it would be similar to the way you look down the sight in games like call of duty. Or like fatal frame

Maybe because I'm a PC gamer and not a console gamer, I prefer a screen rather than a FPS sort of mechanic.

Genius. The hand/camera should be a little more to the lower right and the screen should be bigger, but otherwise awesome.
The real-time disortion detection idea is that it tears or something, or gets a blurring effect. To get detailed detection, you have to stop and rewind the tape.

Eh I'd personally get annoyed with it. Mostly why I don't like FPS because of the hand/gun taking up most the screen. Ah well, I guess I'm out-voted here. Have fun, you guys.

New idea:
Instead of having it be exclusive to MH, it could have three major "chapters" to it, based around MH, EMH and TT. All of these stay true to the canon of their respective stor, but add things when needed for the sake of the game.
In addition to that, there could be a sort of "adventure" mode, where it combines a lot of Slender Man stories into a free-roam "choose your story" sort of thing.

How about, like some games based off of movies and shows I've seen, you're some fictional character that maybe knew Jay and Alex (Maybe an extra on Marble Hornets?). And it could take place in that span of time between seasons 1 and 2. So basically, you're in the original town of MH, but Jay and Alex are already gone, and you're gonna try to find out why they left.
For some reason you can't see Jay's entries on youtube (some unknown technical difficulties?). The story begins with you getting a package on your doorstep containing a tape with entry 1 on it. Written on the tape is something like "DEFENDTHIST, otheark" (For those to lazy to decipher, it's FINDTHEREST all scrambled up.) and that could be the first "Decoding" minigame.
Also, the Operator should be somewhat like a dementor, you know, from Harry Potter, and by that I just mean you should be able to repel him, but you can never actually kill him. Although, the repelling should also have a downside, like the more you use the repelling device/ability, the more likely it is that he will show up in your house, and when he has been in or near your house, your mental stability begins to plummet and the repel ability has less effect on him when your mental stability is low.
