I said 1-18-08 because that was it's working title. I followed that ARG daily, and was there opening day as well. I thought it was a great film! Although, the ARG led me to believe that SLUSHO played a large role in the film. It made nothing but a cameo appearance on J. Hawkins t-shirt!!

To this day, though... I'm still kind of pissed at JJ Abrams for not making room in his schedule for the sequel. I realize he is a busy man, but dammit Cloverfield/1-18-08.com took me on a ROLLERCOASTER!

Unfortunately, I didn't known about Unfiction at that point, and sort of followed it on my own. :/

Same. ARGs seem to get me obsessed. 1-18-08 was the first one I played. Then Year Zero, and now guess what

It was just disappointing, there was hardly any story to it. Unless you followed the ARG, you'd have little idea of what's going on and it seemed over too fast. That said, it was still decent. The crab-dog things were cool. I still want a toy of the monster.

Also, 1-18-08 is just what people referred to the game as, since that's all the trailer had. The working title was actually "Cloverfield", but since many people already knew that name and were used to it, they stuck to that name. Before that announcment, it was going to be called "Grayshot".

Indeed it was. The Presence scared the shit out of me for a while.

Actually, Year Zero was how I found MH. I finished it up, and wanted another scary ARG, and I saw on some forum (not Unfiction) somebody arguing whether or not it was an ARG.

That led to googling, youtube, and facemelting upon first watching 18.

Is Abrams an innovator of Troy's? During these two scenes, both cameras hiccup a single frame of The Operator and King Kong, respectively of course.

There was another similarity between Cloverfield and Marble Hornets that I thought of earlier on tonight, but it slipped my mind.

Also, OpenClear (the Unfiction username that was widely suspected to be Troy himself) stated that he followed the 1-18-08 ARG in the original Marble Hornets Thread. So who knows? My guess is that Troy took a hint from Abrams.. or two!

And yes... I am bored as all hell.

I wonder what is going to happen on 8/10, if anything. I'd expect that they may announce the announcement that day after seeing all the speculation that something will happen, but I'm excited to see either way.
