First of all, the Ark as an escape From water is silly, Google this: define:Ark you'll see just because the most famous Ark happens to be a boat, an Ark is any form of sanctuary. If you want sanctuary from a hurricane, you're not going to hop on a boat. Now yes, if someone you're trying to avoid hates water, it would follow that a boat may be a sensible place to be.

Next since we all know humans need water to survive, it should follow all living humans consume water. Therefore from a story telling standpoint, you only show someone drinking water if it is significant to the story. Maybe it is just a sign Tim has been present, but it may also be more significant than that.

End of season two. Buy the DVD.

If so the Operator must be related to the Wicked Witch.

Well shit...with all the wizard of oz parallels and
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Troy Wagner being an enthusiast and student of film...
that might have some substance to it.

So defeating the Operator will possibly involve Ruby Red shoes.

And a strong desire to go home.

Have we ever seen the Operator's feet in MH? Maybe he's the one wearing the Ruby (Silver) Slippers!

Or what if The Operator is the one who simply just wants to go home.

A good sum of stories about the operator does involve fire. Burning trees, burning homes, etc. Perhaps, water also acts as some sort of ward as well, if the operator indeed has an aversion to it.

As long as they don't say he died, they can always do a spin-off.

I don't want them to do a spinoff, really. I doubt they would anyway. They're working on their new series, and they want to finish MH. I want MH to end with everything resolved.

Though, I wouldn't say no to my idea about Jessica's entries I said a bunch of pages back....
