Explaining Slendy ARG's to people...
Oh, awkwardness can ensue.

This isnt a slendy or VLOG topic, but more of an out-of-game occurrances with people who don't even get that the videos are ARG's or part of a big plot/game. Don't you get frustrated with it sometimes? Rolling Eyes

Its even worse when your players or actors don't get it yet.. Well, atleast from a Director or creator/writer's perspective, this topic could make a ton of sense.

Yeah. It's especially hard when your series is pretty confusing, but with my actors it seems that they grasp the more difficult topics but can't follow simple instructions as far as what they're supposed to do.

I find it even harder to explain to people who have never heard of Slender Man before. They keep thinking it's some dude in a suit. Now, I just treat him as if he's real. It's more fun that way when explaining.

Some people think creepy, some think of a retarded obsession. Then, I convince them to watch Marble Hornets and as always, they're either shitting their pants or intensely interested.

I don't find it too hard to explain, I showed my friend Marble Hornets the other day and she seems to be really interested in it.

So yeah, just showing them an example should work.

Point in focus is convincing them that its worth the time. Its like showing them jedusable, they're gonna go 'what's this?' before they watch it

The important thing is making sure you're communicating the high concepts well. There's more than one and that's what makes grasping it tricky. A good start is to separate the explanation of how the video series works (the ARG part) from the explanation of Slenderman (the mythos part).

Jadusable is quite hard to understand if you only show the videos because there are descriptions to each video.

Just like what zbeeblebrox said, I guess. Explain them the basic principles of an ARG/CF then show them some examples on how to do it right.
