copied from another forum, i think this is something only UK residents can get into:

"The Code is coming soon to BBC Two! This is your chance to take part in an interactive treasure hunt and be in with a chance of winning a unique piece of treasure."

"The Code kicks off at the end of July but we're warming up right now! If you want to be 1 of 1,024 players to take part in a collaborative puzzle before launch then send an email with your postal address to code -at- bbc.co.uk. It could be you..."

postcard

Just received my 'mailing' - when my scanner works i'll be uploaded.
For now - the front picture is similar to the logos seen on the website - the triangle witha symbol in the middle
the reverse - message idea - as it were is a grid made up of variations on two shapes per box [the platonic solids]
looks like we have a code to break people...

will post more later...
2978049 postcard.jpg
Description   message on back the same for everyone - BUT front image different - different numbers as well in bottom corner...

 Got a card
Hint

Hmm so I recently received my card in the mail today. However I got the same thing on the back of the card. But I got a white triangle with a brown y shape also the number on my card is 8865875. Now My theory is that the numbers on the cards are prime numbers. However this relates to their Facebook page. The page has been asking fans to post images of everyday items that have prime numbers. I suggest everyone should check out the page for more clues. Also I might start up a wiki dedicated to the code.

there are people collecting images of the postcards (they appear to be unique) on a facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/BBC-Code-Crack-the-Code/136280116456670?sk=wall&filter=1
although imo it's not the best venue for hosting such a discussion (i'm not sure a single thread here would be anything other than unweildy either) so if anyone has any suggestions/forum space/wiki space...?

(Full disclosure - I'm a PM on The Code!)

elvenkayt: You know, almost all of the clues to the hunt are available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLABE41A0C254CD1D5 - and you don't need the postcards to play, so you can pretty much do everything (other than win the prize, unfortunately!)

It's a good time to start because we've just released the 'Ultimate Challenge' phase of the treasure hunt, which is an 84 page book of puzzles with everything from easy mazes, Sudoku and trivia to very tricky brainteasers. If you like puzzles (or indeed, Perplex City!) then you'll love this.

You can download it from http://www.bbc.co.uk/tv/features/code/about/challenge/ although you will need the three Codebreaker passwords. They're not too difficult to get, and if you get stuck, you can always try asking on our Facebook group at http://facebook.com/bbccode

Would love to see the Unfiction crowd take on The Code... Smile

The postcards look to be cross sectional slices of the prize which is pictured here

The ultimate challenge is HUGE - if anyone wants the password to it, and can't be bothered to work them out, well - pah - but PM me for it - won't spoiler it as its worth the effort...
