Ahaha Dia Renalda. Very much agree. This one just seems more a fun factoid than a lead 'tho his fans still wonder (and post) what became of Carl Kolchak. Laughing

I'm starting to think this is a crossover. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I have bad news for those that want to disagree with me.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Grace is on good speaking terms with the Steward, one of the Tall Man's pets. She volunteered for Jester's game. It was originally not supposed to be for her.

Dude, I found that comic online, and the author when searching for Moore, and didn't think anything of it. I'm a moron. lol.

Don't beat yourself up Ashe Smile I checked it out pretty good (and I'm positive players more skilled than myself did as well) and if there is an "Ah-Ha" moment I still can't find it.

PROS:
has MOORE, ECHO, MOON LAKE (and we weren't even sure of MOON LAKE at the time)
takes place in a desert near a military complex
has a park ranger as a sidekick

CONS:
no connection to SHADOW, unless it's in the comic, which no one seems to have
"takes place in a desert near a military complex" covers about one third of the US
he was a California Park Ranger

How about a little experiment? PLAYERS AND LURKERS ALIKE if you looked into this and couldn't quite made the connection PLEASE CHIME IN

Advice: Don't assume that just because a webpage refers to the Empress, it is part of my game. She has strings entangled in many places.

Also, where'd we get shadow from? The only place I can find it is the Moore hint.

Okay, one more time for those that did not catch it:

I wasn't trying to mention the Wooden Girl only. Grace/Jester commented on those links before the game began. Both were on July 31st.

How is that not directly related to this game?

The game started July 31st, and when it did, she knew that it was the Jester's doing. This entry was posted a little before 3 pm, both comments come after 10 pm the same day. The note arrived on the 30th, so that's a day of research.

Edit: She even says in her twitter.

Okay, sure. I get that part. Timeline's correct, I already checked. How would she have found the Steward's blog if she only knew the Jester/Wooden Girl through the note? That site isn't even mentioned until days later, in a clue that lead to the Archive. Let alone, why would she be consoling Slendy's proxy?

Basic human empathy? Meta-theory, advertising the game. She found his twitter before noon the next day, it's obvious she was looking into finding out who this guy was.

Okay, fine. How did she find the Archive? "Jester" doesn't lead to the Fear mythos on the first few pages of Google, or anything else. That page on the Archive that links to that first page of the Steward's blog doesn't mention the Jester. She'd have to search a pretty good while to begin with to be able to find the posts she found and commented on. Why would he advertise on the Steward's blog to begin with if he didn't want other Fears/etc. to become involved?

I know this is in depth and nitpicking, but that's kind of our job in these games. Every clue, every sentence is nitpicked and torn apart to try and figure out what we can do, and to find the similarities and the inconsistencies in what they say.

Like her mentioning having read the House of Leaves, but the name Karen meaning nothing to her. Even after she found out he had the book. There are clues that cross country, but it's touchy for them to explain how she found Jester, or the Archive? I'm confused, and when I started asking questions, I seriously thought it would lead somewhere. Now it's just making it more confusing.

On that note, I'm going to bed. It's obvious that Jester, and possibly Grace, are reading these. I mean no offense. I'm honestly trying to help, and thought maybe there was a clue hidden in how she found him to begin with. If it was just my making something out of nothing, I'm sorry. See y'all when I wake up.

I found it pretty easily for one of his riddles. She has her own explanation from Twitter.

For posterity,
Quote:
@LookingGrace- If you really must know: I had an online friend who reads Slenderblogs - when she saw the name "Jester" she emailed me the link.

By the way, there hasn't been a new riddle lately, has there? I was hoping we'd get a second chance at giving him some of the essentials. Maybe we're supposed to be finding the rest of the cheat code?

Not going to say you're making something out of nothing because while you may be, you may not. It does stand to read though, that our PM would want people who knew of the fear mythos to be the ones playing this game. No knowledge of it would make the game extremely difficult. He made the same, "would you like to play a game" post on the archive as well. I'm sure if you keep digging through all the blogs, you'll find more where he made these posts as well. These PMs know that the players will click every link they find, look through every blog, to see what they can find. The more you post on blogs for the mythos your game deals with, the more players your going to get.
So while this link may be a key to the game later on, at *this* moment, it doesn't seem to be. I will congratulate you on the find though, good catch! Smile

EDIT:

From the Jester's Twitter:
"More advice: I left a number of comments in different places to advertise my game. They are irrelevant. I was merely looking for players."

There is at least one more word in the cheat code (presumably more, "These ____ big" isn't a phrase). The Archive is in game, Grace pointed it out to us. The other site they've been pointing out is Debasing the Beef Canoe, has anyone found anything suspicious there?

Sent Jester my answer to this substitution cipher:

THE MAN WHO MAKE IT DOESNT WANT IT. THE MAN WHO BUY IT DOESNT NEED IT. THE MAN WHO HAS IT DOESNT KNOW IT.

R6: One Day: FRU MYL CRK MYOU QF VKUGLF CYLF QF. FRU MYL CRK XEA QF VKUGLF LUUV QF. FRU MYL CRK RYG QF VKUGLF OLKC QF.

Answer, cryptogram key, then cleaned up and solved:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The man who makes it doesn't want it, the man who buys it doesn't need it, the man who has it doesn't know it. It's a coffin.

Likely this was a photo-finish, Dottoe. Smile Will just throw the choice into the group to puzzle Jester's twist & check back tomorrow. All help appreciated bigtime.
