Nice, where did they get your address? Did you register anywhere for this?

The (non-identifying) PM had emailed me (out of the blue, through no initiative of my own) on August 6th informing me of the ARG and stating that "If you can reply to this email and provide a postal address, I would like to send you a clue." I happily did so. EDIT: As an update on the floppy issue - my friend has an external USB floppy drive and will be bring it over tonight, so I should be able to upload the disk tomorrow.

I received a similar e-mail on August 14th and am awaiting the arrival of perhaps a similar package. I've already got a computer with a floppy drive at-the-ready, just in case.

And hello! I've been a long-time lurker here but hope to become much more involved in helping to solve this.

It appears this may be invite only, but hopefully we'll all be able to help solve the mystery. Looking forward to hearing what kloos might be on the floppy disc.

There's no way of telling how many people the PM reached out to but at least on my front, I definitely plan on sharing everything here. It's no fun to play alone.

I want that package. Woe is me. Well as soon as we get those floppy contents we can see if everyone's getting the same thing, if it's all different or if there's a choice of a few or whatever. Can't wait for this one to start, it's shaping up to be quite exciting!

No one else mentioned it, but the original photo of the darkest puzzle disk is dated 2002-2003. The one you have here is 2001-2002. I'm curious if we might be given different information. We'll know once those packages start coming in.
In the mean time, it might be wise to shoot out a letter to that PO Box for those of you who did not receive an email.
Exciting.

Guess I'll just be lurking. I did get an email back in May asking for address, but I doubt it was for this.
I doubt a letter to the PO box would help. If anything you may want to inquire about it to that email address if any of the players are willing to give it out.

darkcloud.org Ok, I received an email back from darkcloud.org. I asked if we was aware of thedarkestpuzzle, as I'm searching for Dark Cloud..
He says...
"I just checked out that site... and it has a countdown to 8/21/2011... and it has something to do with the tenth anniversary of 9/11... so I looked at my whois entry and I just happened to register that domain on 8/21/01. Whoever created this ARG, I'm guessing, looked at my DNS record. Pretty interesting. I'm interested to see what happens in 4 days."
So to clarify, we know that DarkCloud.org is not affiliated directly with the game, but shares two interesting coincidences; the name, and the date of the launch.

Did anything happen at 10:43/10:35/10:30 am on 9/11? Do we know what time the first Cloudmakers post on 'solving 9/11' was made? Seems an odd time to end the clock and seems odd to do it on local time. Maybe significant?
