 		Well, he posted a video analyzing the phone and the number on the dog poster is different. According to the phone's name card the phone he found is (541) 505-4911 I've got to think he's making sure we catch these numbers for reason, but they're long distance to me and I don't want to waste money on the call. Anyone else willing to try those numbers?

Edit: Interesting. A note in the battery compartment (several actually) most notably "R didn't have what it takes." "Do you?"

The phones owner was named Ryan. Presumed dead or minion.

Edit: There's also a second new video with what looks like a QR code at the end of it.

 		The QR code in that video translates to "READ THE SOUND, K". Time I guess to do a spectrograph analysis of the distortion.

Edit: How do I do that?

The link is a pic of the QR code I mentioned above. I told him what it translated to, mentioned a spectrographic analysis of the video may be helpful but that I didn't know how to do one.

He also responded to a tweet from a LadySuccubusGod. A quick look at her account suggests she may be trying to gamejack or otherwise troll multiple ARG's, including tribetwelve and EMH..

 		New video.

In brief: The Hacker broke in, stole that phone he found, left a message reading "Don't Listen To Us" and stuck a pin into a map on Kain's wall.

I advised Kain via twitter to avoid the marked location without backup on par with a marine squadron.

The Hacker has an impressive talent for leaping out second story windows and vanishing like he's the fucking Batman, that was kind of impressive.

Despite Kain pointing me at a program with which to analyze the video with the QR code in it I'm making no progress there. Mostly I think because I still have no clue what I'm doing with a spectrograph. If someone from the board who knows what they're doing could lend a hand there I'd highly appreciate it*. It looks like it's gearing up for the stage that will either make it a good if not great slendervlog or cement it as mediocre. It all depends on what happens with the Hacker and this location he marked on Kain's map.


*Hell with him pointing people at a spectrograph program to use I'd say there's a good chance what's hidden there could be vital to the story.

Edited for clarity. I just realized my original post sounded like the Hacker advised Kain via twitter.

I am having the same problem with the QR code here. IMHO it is not a very good capture. Kain cut off the very bottom part of the code with the time indicator when he did his screen cap which loses some potential info. On top of that the code is not placed on a clean background so that makes it even MORE difficult to get a good read on the code. It is going to be EXTREMELY difficult to get a good read on this QR code without having a copy that is unblocked by extraneous stuff and on a clean background.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
OOG-Not trying to bitch here but TJA Projects did a MUCH better use of the QR code. Clean background and high enough on the screen to get a good capture to pass through QR reading software. If he had done a brief white flash with bit smaller version at about center screen this might be easier. I am racking my brains trying to figure out how to decode this one......

I think you just paused at a bad point to screen cap it. I cracked the QR code four days ago on my first try, that's where I got "READ THE SOUND, K". My problem is my total noobishness when it comes to the spectorgaphic analysis the QR code suggested doing. For those who aren't noobish at that I'm uploading the audio I stripped out of the vid.

Edit: Or are you saying I missed a QR code in theft? Re-watching to check.

I found out what one of the problems that you have been having is. You were using a .mp4 file. The program he suggested specifically asks for .wav files. It doesn't like .mp4's that well and that what was probably causing you to crash when running the file in stereo. I converted your .mp4 to a .wav file and managed to get it to play through on the stereo setting. I am seeing something that looks like letters in the spectrogram when he is talking (I could be matrixing it though) but can't quite make out what it says if it says anything. As for the noise at the end I don't see much of anything. Like you though I am REALLY inexperienced at manipulation spectrograms. This may be a start though. Two minds are better then one, lol.

I found out what one of the problems that you have been having is. You were using a .mp4 file. The program he suggested specifically asks for .wav files. It doesn't like .mp4's that well and that what was probably causing you to crash when running the file in stereo. I converted your .mp4 to a .wav file and managed to get it to play through on the stereo setting. I am seeing something that looks like letters in the spectrogram when he is talking (I could be matrixing it though) but can't quite make out what it says if it says anything. As for the noise at the end I don't see much of anything. Like you though I am REALLY inexperienced at manipulation spectrograms. This may be a start though. Two minds are better then one, lol.


If you can send the .wav back I can take a crack at it. The program I used to separate the sound wouldn't output to .wav so I tried to simply change the file extension manually which may be what buggered my attempts. So I sent the .mp4 so people could work with the minimally altered copy instead of one I may have screwed up. I'm assuming you found a program to convert it to a .wav instead.

Yeah, I used an online converter (clicky link). Upload the file, then select the new format you want, and (if able) the quality. It will output a downloadable file for you that is approx. 67 MB (and yes .wav's are usually that big, lol). Hope this helps.

 		Just started watching this series today, and I have to say my interest is piqued. Took a crack at the spectrograph--there are definitely words there, but I can't figure out how to get it any clearer than I have it now. I'll attach a screencap, and the noise clip from the end of the video as an mp3 in case anyone wants it.

Also, just want to say that I've found RealPlayer coupled with Audacity is pretty awesome for this stuff. RP lets you download the video directly and then convert it to an audio (mp3) file if you want, then you can play with the spectrographing stuff in Audacity.

EDIT: Adding the sound clip as a .wav file because I saw people wanted that. Do you guys want the entire video audio, or just the spectrograph clip at the end? I'll add the spectro at the end for now since it's way shorter.

Thanks. Having been unsure of how to get spectrographic readings I've been using the file the PM linked to in his twitter and it only does .wav files. Yeah if the only bit that seems to have something is the distortion at the end that should do. In your screen cap I think I'm seeing the word Hallowed, which is a type of proxie as I recall. I'm going to take a crack at it myself see if changing some settings makes the words clearer.

edit: Haven't produced anything clearer yet. Sent the image we do have to his twitter with my spec on what the letters say.

 		Well, his new tweets seem to indicate I'm wrong in my attempts to read that as Hallow or Hollow. If as he suggests
