The image in beegarden_embedded.jpg is a transcript of an iterated Prisoner's Dilemma.

The image in the bottom right corner of the photo of the prison cell (bee2_margaretphoto.jpg) is a Prisoner's Dilemma payoff matrix.

I should know -- the stuff this puzzle is referencing is part of where I got my name from, after all. Cool (24601 = Valjean; 2401 = 7x7x7x7)

Not sure where that leads, but I know what to check next...

24602 is using Tit For Tat. His next move should be C.

EDIT: And the score to the side is important as well:
There are:

C D
C 3 0
D 5 1

EDIT 2: Solve's already up, I didn't get it right. This is the scoring key, not the number of rounds.

Searching for Spanish broom and Scotch brrom here:

http://ridgwaydb.mobot.org/mobot/rarebooks/search.asp

doesn't yield the image used in beewthh.jpg Sad

I believe we're missing top left, top middle and bottom left from that set.

Prisioners game was correct. Take the score for C for each round. Congrats.

The vorpal blade when "snicker snack".

So if it's snackless then you just have "snicker".

... I should probably read the rest of the thread before I post next time...

Using the rules for prisoners dilemma
http://www.computing.dcu.ie/~aerrity/undergrad/prisoner/epd_technical.pdf

BeeGarden lists the moves Cooperate or Defect

Calculate the scores and you get

351053 for the left player and 301503 for the right player

Use the winning score in the matrix of data in the prison cell (bee2_margerathoto) and you get

eyeout

(loser score is ETEUFT???)

Re: Not papyrus

I looks like a papyrus to me just one that has been dried and some to the top has broken off.

The "written on in" one is NOT papyrus.

Papyrus looks like a stalk with an "umbrella skeleton" of leaves at the top.

I suspect this may be a plant that is used in India or South America.

Curses! Evil or Very Mad And congrats. Very Happy

At first I was going the wrong way, and even once I realized I should be reading one letter from each column, I was still using the total score instead of just #24601's score.

(Looking at the total made more sense to me since 1) that's part of the point of the Prisoner's Dilemma, and 2) the numbers went up to six. One player can only score up to 5. Confused )

Fubarz, you could be right, but to me that looks like a type of Wild Rice.

This is papyrus:

Doesn't look like that plant at all.
