 		I was reading in an older thread "How Can You Kill Slenderman" or something like that, and someone speculated that he's a creature of fire and that the way to kill him would be water, and it linked back to how he was likely one of those old convicts that was tied to a tree to stretch and then burned with the tree.

Well the old astronomical symbol for "EARTH" is basically (+), while The Operator is represented by (x). Assuming that he IS somehow linked to Earth and Fire, he would likely be a bastardization as such, so the rotated symbol.

I am likely completely wrong, but it was something that struck me as interesting. :/
