I don't know if that really counts. Simon is one of us nerdy internet types.
When a celebrity who thinks the whole internet is Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube on their smart phone like normal people do mentions Slendy, then he's famous.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You are now imagining a Slender series by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and how awesome that would be.

The next step up from Simon Pegg is Lady GaGa. She's a good transitory celebrity between geek famous and nongeek famous. Then George Clooney. Then Oprah. Then a 'concerned citizens' piece on a 24 hour news channel titled something like "Slenderman - harmless fun or dangerous prank?", followed by some bad jokes on a late night show that isn't Conen O'Brien - who already did a Slenderman comedy skit 3 months earlier.
At this point the cycle feeds back into itself over and over until the fad is either destroyed or transformed into something sustainable and unrecognizable.

It's simple.
We kill the GaGa.

Well, she's already been proven to be a demon from hell sent to kill us all. At best, we'll get her. At worst, we'll all be melted into a big ocean of orange juice.[/quote]

If Slenderman gets famous like that, I don't think there will be much of a reason for me to continue on living.

Lady Gaga will take it to the mainstream either by mentioning it, or dressing as Slendy in a music video/concert...
I was joking about the latter, but, who knows, she might be able to pull this out...

I swear guys, I was honestly just trying to predict what would happen if Slenderman became popular, I wasn't trying to get everyone down Obviously, my predictions are skewed a bit negative...Haha

Or she releases the Eldritch Abomination remix of Poker Face.
Obviously the worst possible scenario is Stephanie Meyer finding out about Slender Man. Since she's the poster child for Did Not Do the Research, she would just come up with her own version of what Slender Man is. It is quite possible there would be sparkles involved and a star-crossed romance with a teenaged girl. Then all of her fans will invade every Slender Man related forum/website/YouTube channel complaining about the lack of romance in them.

I don't think he has. I read that as O'Brien would be so far ahead of the comedy curve that he would have made Slender Man jokes before all of the late night hosts knew about Him.
