"Jack The Ripper" by Morrissey

Quote:
Oh, you look so tired (insomnia seems to be one of the symptoms of slendersickness)
Mouth slack and wide
Ill-housed and ill-advised (Alex, possibly, but most obviously Jay)
Your face is as mean as your life has been

Crash into my arms (main SM mythos states that when SM extends his arms, the victim is hypnotised and drawn towards them)
I want you
You don't agree, but you don't refuse
I know you

And I know a place
Where no one is likely to pass (pump house/SM's domain, anyone?)
And you don't care if it's late (or, likely, don't know, due to my time-bending powers)
And you don't care if you're lost
But oh, you look so tired
But tonight, you presume too much
Too much, too much
And if it's the last thing I ever do
I'm gonna get you

-Rpt. Chorus-

And no one knows a thing about me (how much do we really know about Mr. Thin?)
I can come and go as I please (teleportation.)

Seems to be from the POV of the Operator himself.

Hi. First time poster, been digging this since somewhere towards the middle of season one...
I kinda feel like an ass posting this, but there's a freelance video artist that makes videos on the youtube for psychedelic bands (he's done one or 2 for The Brian Jonestown Massacre and bands from that extended family, etc)
Anyway, he made one for one of my band's songs (called Fever Dream, which is kind of appropriate here), but the video he made...well, it features a dude in a mask and it's pretty TTA-ish:

Anyway..
/I hate that my first post is self-promo...
//but seriously...

I'm really glad someone mentioned Der Erlkonig Very Happy Ever since my roommate had me watch the first 20 entries, Der Erlkonig has always brought images of Slender Man. Trees, fog, creepy entities among said trees and fog, the souls of children getting taken in the night...

Now that I typed that...

Mad Dog - Black Lips, first verse reminds me a tad of TTA

Quote:
Listen to it closely 'cause it's scary and you might get confused (a-ha-ha-ha)
Choose your message wisely because it just might be the last thing you do
Counter-clock wise, open your eyes
Play it backwards, spin it faster
God lived like a devil dog, a goddam mad mad dog

But really, songs don't do the fear justice. Creepy, eerie, nightmare-fueling, late-night silence is Slendy's song.

Hello Operator...

I don't know why this reminds me of marble hornets.. other than title. It's Hello Operator by the White Stripes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nftLExpxE0

The whole time I was watching the series, I kept thinking of Nine Inch Nails Ghosts I-IV album.

There's a song by taking Back Sunday that's called Error: Operator. Although I think it's a little too...whiny for marble hornets.

Another song that I think works is Return by Ok Go. It's a song about someone who lost someone young. The main line is "You were supposed to grow old. You were supposed to return."

I was listening to Her by Tyler, the Creator, and it had some very masky things to, somewhat.

The Strokes - Under the Cover Of Darkness

Really has that film student in danger with his head in his hands feeling. You can picture this playing with Jay in his car just before sunset.
