*delurks* Everyone is doing an awesome job finding potential connections! I don't have much to add...I've just been thinking about Jack's pleas for us not to send tree pictures because they help Slendy. It's interesting that when Slenderjack (forget who came up with that, but I love it) commented on our tree pictures, he always disliked the skinny, slender-like trees and was happier when we sent him large and leafy tree pics. Maybe it was just part of the ruse to act like an adorable and terrified kid, but I'm curious as to whether Slenderjack was trying to get us to send him something very specific. And that's my rambling contribution for the day Smile

I've been considering playing dumb/the bad guy and sending in tons of tree pictures just to see what happens.

Hi there; also delurking.

I've been thinking too about the kinds of trees that Slenderjack seems to like: he's into big huge trees with lots of leaves... as chaos_angel said, like the ones he said Sarah in California sent him.

So could it be that where there is the right kind of tree, and Slendy has specific knowledge of it (eg a photo, not just a drawing), he can make a portal? I wonder if there is a door near those Redwoods too?

Or maybe I am barking up the wrong tree (!); maybe he just doesn't like trees that look too much like him. Funny, as you'd think they'd make good camouflage.

But Jack does strongly suggest that sending pictures makes us vulnerable to the creature, and as Slenderjack only seems into a particular kind of tree (big, leafy), that does seem to be the dangerous kind of tree.

Welp, that blog post answered all my triangle questions except one, and it was kinda dumb anyway. That the triangles aren't flush suggests to me that they could indeed be brackets for something. The key could be a picture, considering what we know about Slendy's photo hobby.

Hi delurkers! Good points. I've been reading through the blog, looking for clues about the "meanpics" for a few days too. I'll attempt to convey my thoughts, but it might get long. >.< To me, the question boils down to whether (a) Jack was actively possessed and wrote the blog himself, with his buried true psyche acting as Jill, or (b) Slenders read Jack's memories at an earlier point and used it to create a blog from a human POV. (However he would do that-- maybe there's a Mavis Beacon for eldritch entities and their tentacles.) Both have scary connotations.

If (a) is true, then the anxiety felt about the meanpics could be Jack's. He was seeing them in real-time, as they were submitted, and Slendy let that peek through for whatever reason. But if Jack was bodily possessed, then why did it stop? Did Slendy lose interest in Jack's body when we stopped sending pics? And more alarmingly, what's to stop the creature from taking over again, should Jack start looking like a useful tool?

If (b) is true, the creature is probably more adaptable than I previously thought. He would have read Jack's memories then replayed them through the blog, but with an added element: our pics. Those weren't in Jack's memories. So Slendy either anticipated how Jack would have responded and was just staying in character, or he masked his own anxieties (FLOABT) about the pics behind a sympathetic human POV. Both show high levels of thought and understanding from a totally alien entity. How much further ahead of the game is he?

And of course, why use Jack to write the blog and not another survivor? Or for that matter, a totally made-up character, if he's so adept at human communication?

Glad I'm not the only one who thought about doing that.

And those are really good points/questions. I've been wondering a lot recently why exactly SlenderJack dropped the persona and let Jack take over the blog like that. Could it be because Jack posted that newspaper article about the fire? I mean, the jig was sort of up at that point, so maybe it was just that he didn't see any point in continuing?

But then, that still doesn't explain what the pictures were for. Unless (and this is sleep-deprived me speaking so semi-wild theories time) the triangles really do make a frame and perhaps where the door leads is dependent upon the picture placed within it? And since there is no picture right now, the door is locked. If Serah is Sarah-that-posted-Redwoods, it would explain how he got over to where she was to teleport her away. But then again, he never showed us a picture of Aokigahara, he just said that the neighbor showed him pictures of it, so I don't know. :/

But if I'm correct, it was SlenderJack that posted about the neighbor with the Aokigahara pictures, so we can't trust any of that. He could have been totally lying. Maybe he WANTS Aokigahara pictures so he mentioned it in a roundabout way hoping that someone would figure it out but not wanting to be too obvious?

SlenderJack posted it, but in "6 - Answers" Jack said it happened "almost exactly" that way back in June or whenever. I assumed the "almost" discrepancy was referring to our participation with the pictures. It's possible SlendyJack was lying of course, but wouldn't RealJack have clarified that at the mention of Serah's dad? That implies a parallel in Serah's and Jack's stories to me. Again, all this depends on Jack's trustworthiness, though. And he *is* a stressed-out 13 year old posting in a hurry.

I believe Jack also mentioned Aokigahara as well, in code, back when he was the Jill persona.

Anyone seen the latest comment on the blog?

Ok, Jack, I understand it. You have to place a PICTURE in-between those triangles on the doorFRAME. This may unlock the door. This thing needs pictures to move about space, to get to his victims. He liked the bushy, pleasant tree pictures we sent him, because most people would be found there rather than a burned out hollow. If this is the case, that thing might just show up at my door.

Either way, you have to somehow come up with a picture big enough and try this

Makes sense,doesn't it?

Hadn't seen that, but yep. Wish we knew the significance of the scratched-in symbol though.

It's a blog, so I try to interact on the blog more, but I'm watching this thread too.

I'm glad you did, punxtr. I can't leave blogspot comments on my POS phone, but I sent an email saying I agree with you and stressed being careful. I also wrote this:

Also, I think the door might take you through more than long distances--it might take you through time somehow. That symbol does look like an hourglass, but it's open, like a broken watch. It could be a warning; maybe another pair of survivors found it and figured something out. Plus someone named Sarah sent the creature pictures of Redwoods from CA. It might have been our Serah (since the creature had such terrible spelling). I know that sounds crazy since she was in Japan by then, but when you add the the hourglass symbol into the equation and how we think the door operates... I don't think we can discount time travel altogether.

I also said if they get the door open and decide to go through, to squeeze through at the same time. Who knows if it'll help, but doing everything they can to not get separated seems important.

Your idea gave me an idea, in that this is the doors way of GPS. Perhaps the door sends you to places based on the fauna that is present in the picture. Like redwoods to California.

This reminds me of how the D'ni wrote descriptive books to link to the best fit age. The link established is not specific to time or space, either.
