Wait a second.
Has anyone decoded the purple light in the middle? Because you can click on the purple symbol between the two motion-trackerish things and then right-click and zoom in. I can't figure out how to freeze-frame it, but I think that the left scrolling line has the word 'bees' in it.
And also, does anyone know where to find the English text that BOLL managed to extract from the site (the XML file stuff)?

EDIT: One more thing. Whoever said Cortana looks like she was in a Covie Control station...bogus. If you zoom in on the "full-body" pic of Cortana, you can see the same cross-hatching on the "holo-glass" that was on the Pillar of Autumn's. Also, I think I remember that skeleton 3D planet from the Pillar of Autumn's (on the actual level)...I'm checking it now.
ANOTHER EDIT: mmmm....editing. Okay, I think there may be a Red vs Blue reference in the site. I forget exactly where it is, but it lists weapons, then says:
"I call shotgun!"
RvB Episode 2:
SARGE: ...Lopez! Bring up the vehicle.
Grif: Shotgun!
Simmons: Shotgun! -expletive-

I just finished a Konfabulator widget to ease translation (for me, anyway). Konfabulator is a Mac OS X-only shareware product, so I'm sure the audience is limited . If you do meet the system requirements, give it a try if you'd like; I've linked a copy at the bottom of this message. The widget puts a translation system above all your windows (including the halo2.com site), just click a symbol and its English equivilent will be entered into the text field at the top of the widget. The text can be copied and pasted from the widget, or use the buttons to clear the text or delete the last character. You can move the widget around the screen by dragging the "=" character. Thanks to TheBruce for the character layout.

Not really sure who made this, but I found it on IGN's forums.
It has a translation of every page in there so far, in image form.

Image 43 made me laugh hard.
Whoever did those needs to re-edit them; spaces in wrong places and missed bits abound...

I dont know if anyone has already posted this but, when you cycle through all the buttons, or clickable objects rather, in the passwordf screen it will input something into the password field. Which leads one to believe that not just letters and numbers are used. This would make it difficult to crack the password then. These screens also make me think back to what someone said about Doom 3 and how Halo 2 might have a reverse passworsd situation. When you think about it, last time youp layed through halo 1 on legendary you got just a couple extra seconds of cutscene, maybe in Halo 2 as you finish the game on Normal, Heroic, and Legendary they give you the pass codes. Yup, this is one long winded speculation.

I read a post on another forum about how if you look at the flash code it has a way to input, but that there is no verification of any kind, just a recognition of a pressed button in order to light up the square. If that's true, then there isn't even a password to crack yet.

It's just like writing PTO on both sides of a piece of paper..
.. cause you know what that's designed to do.

That would make sense, seing as it took a day for for people to figure out the code on the website. Im sure if there was any way to crack the password it would have already happened and have been documented here.

I've got a blue sky idea for the star map image. At first I was going to suggest that the red system was Earth, but soon realised that it was in the wrong part... we're about two-thirds out from galactic centre, and that system was only about one-third out.
However, the systems marked out on the map seem to be roughly evenly distributed around the circumferance (ignoring the radius) and there are six marked out. Could this be a map of the fortress-worlds left by the Forerunners? The positioning would give good blanket coverage of most of the galaxy if they all fired 25,000LY-radius pulses. The red one labled "CRABS" could even be Installation 04, aka "Halo", marked out due to its heretical destruction by the Infidels/Devils/Humans.
-- Steve ain't really got much to base this on, but it kinda makes sense. Now go and knock holes in the theory!

It could also be a map of the Covenant homeworlds, we know that the different races all originated on different planets. Find one that has a methane atmosphere, and you'll find the Grunts home planet..

Unless the missed bits add up to the passwords, somehow...

I haven't found this deciphered on the forum yet, and it's left out of those pictures, so..
The bottom right system on the covvy map says "Bezertaa". I can't figure what it means
