Quite simple. Another creepypasta creature. Never had anything to do with the Slender Man originally, though he WAS a major influence on The Slender Man's original story. ENTIRELY unrelated.

EMH introduced him into their story, and he's since been tied in with the Slender Man, but he doesn't originally have anything to do with the Slender Man.

Honestly, as much as I like the idea behind the Rake, I really wish it was Tribe Twelve that had it instead of EverymanHYBRID. EMH is a great series, but the effects are pretty bad even by Slender Man standards. They've shown the Rake on-screen twice that I can think of and he's looked like a dude in a white bodysuit both times. :/

One question I've always had (since I don't follow EMH as closely as I'd like to): how did people even figure out that that is the Rake? It barely resembles what it's supposed to be and nothing about it really sticks out as necessarily being that myth compared to any other random myth about a murderous animal (or even an original creature). I'm not denying that it's the Rake, just asking how people figured that out...

Well, I think the Rake and Slender Man were created by the same people (at least, I think that's the case. I'm not very well versed in creepypasta history). In any case, the effects aren't all that bad. It's not too much of a stretch to look at the EMH Rake and see The Rake. Plus, there's all of those allusions to the original story (the note to Linnie).

To bring this topic back to life, I just found Vicious516's awesome creepypasta video on The Rake. Definitely some scary stuff, as are all of his videos.

^That's some real creepy stuff right there. It's simple yet effective. It's too bad the Rake is so underutilized. Even in EverymanHYBRID he is more of an attack dog than an abomination like the original creepypasta.

I wouldn't really call it creepy, just informative, but it gave a good background story as to who the Rake is, how he operates, and how he acts. Really awesome. This is exactly why The Rake deserves it's own vlog.

Perhaps The Rake is the puppet master and Slenderman is the attack dog.
