Was anyone else disappointed when Troy said that two of the big important shoots were combined into one? Not that I would want them to be in two separate entries, but at the fact that you were expecting more from these direly important shoots?

People tend to not think about what's actually "important" in the story and get their hopes up for no reason.

Many times I've had to pull teeth to get a scene done, just because most of the people involved wouldn't believe me when I stressed how important it was. Scenes that don't actually have any new information whatsoever can still be EXTREMELY important just for establishing characters or to set up something else that happens later (even just to establish a location, like #34). That shot of J talking to Jessica in the car -- as unexciting as it is -- is an example of that kind of importance. It shows a bit of J's character that we've never seen before, and it might be important for context later on if Jessica and J have more scenes together.

Something like Entry #10 is pretty exciting, but actually isn't very important at all. All they had to do at the beginning of season 1 was establish the Operator through a series of brief Alex videos, and one video that's no different from the rest could've gone unfilmed with no alteration to the tone or quality of the story. Not that #10 is bad, obviously; I'm just using it as an example.

Honestly, Troseph seem to have a way harder time with dialogue and characters than they do with composition and editing. If they say something was really hard to film or really important to get right, it's probably a good indication that it *isn't* exciting. Razz Personally, I tend to have an easier time with effects because I can just tap all of my friends to help me out behind the scenes. When I have to work with actors, I need to cast whoever's right for the role regardless of whether or not I actually find the person tolerable in reality, so that makes talky scenes "harder" even though they require less physical work.

Was able to shoot a good bit with Joseph this morning. Should be able to finish the rest tomorrow. Then a mad editing dash before Dragoncon.

I think he said he was undecided about whether to create a new channel or not. I think he's leaning more toward a new channel, personally.

Also, I'm pretty sure the three shoots were made into Classified and Entry #47 only, or else they would have simple gave us a new video this week.

classified can barely even be called a shoot. it was like a picture with a lot of video editing and maybe one second of a clip.

and if that was the 3 shoots, i have no idea how those 3 shots were special in a way that they HAD to be shot in that one week where they said they HAD to shoot it or else.

Spoiler'd for meta stuff that may muck with immersion:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There was some mention of the urgency of the shoot's timing being centered around Jessica's actor's presence before she left again. It could be that a future entry will involve her, and that the last third of the footage they got from that run of filming won't come into play until later in the season.

That's what I was trying to say, but I will stay positive of course. I just was expecting something extra special I guess.

Same here. Hopefully it's not too optimistic.

Pretty good picture here from DragonCon. Also a bit of info on their current MH status.

I'm guessing their "pretty major issue" that Troy mentions has to do with the fact that Entry #38 starts at the end of a tape, meaning that Jay, for whatever reason, chose not to show the contents of the events earlier on the tape, which would include Jay's day before meeting Alex at Rosswood, the two beginning to walk into the woods, etc. (None of that would be important footage now, but it would've been at the time #38 was posted.)

Or because they forgot the leave the dang shirt in the tunnel.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Finally getting a chance to give Mr.Bloggington some attention here. Things have been much busier than usual as of late.

Entry #50 was a bit of a nightmare to shoot. Scheduling conflicts all over the place. I think the total number of days it took to get it all shot ended up being about four. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that it's the entry that spanned the most days in terms of shooting beginning to end. It was mostly due to the fact that the entire thing had to be shot around sundown, so we'd run out of light very quickly, especially while in the woods, which blocked out a ton of the little bit of sunlight we already had. There was one or two spots in the finished entry where the lighting wasn't consistent because of that, but overall I think I got it as good as I could possibly get it.

To those of you asking: No, Entry #50 was not the final entry of the second season. Although it is very very close to it. We're officially in the home stretch now, I feel.

Entry #51 has been fully shot. It went much better than the previous shoot, requiring only two days to get done. I'm in the process of editing it now, and should be done with it no later than Tuesday. It would be going a bit faster if I didn't have so much other stuff to get done at the moment. I'm currently working the light board for the UA theatre department's production of Animal Crackers. While it's a ton of fun, it's also very time consuming and is usually scheduled during the best "editing hours" for me. I've been squeezing in some time here and there though. Thanks for being patient, as usual!

Now that we're finally getting close to wrapping up Season 2, it's time to start talking about the Season 2 DVD. Although it hasn't been officially confirmed as of yet, I don't see why we wouldn't do it after how well the first one sold. So here's my question to you: What would you most like to see in the next DVD?

I know there were a few things people wanted more of, and a few things that were left out without my knowledge, in the Season 1 DVD so I want to do the next one as right as possible this time around. So suggest away, loyal folk. I'm all ears.

I know hindsight is 20/20 and all that...

But they'd have avoided a hell of a lot of these issues if they'd just shot the bulk of Entry 50 at the same time as Entry 38. [Charliesheen]Plan Better![/Charliesheen]

I think since DragonCon is on Thursday we automatically will get it on Wednesday of course not on Friday because we do not if we can sit in the front seat or the back seat problem.
