i like the idea of 41 = AI in L337 speak

and preposition = PRE position makes a lot of sense with this new clue she gave us.

"Before she became a queen"

do we know WHEN she became a queen?

did it have anything to do with the crash? or was she a queen before?

am I gonna get slapped with a stinky trout?

Before the SP's enemy was the queen, she was the operator? Operator = op, op = opposite. Between is between 20 prepositions on each side... between_opposites.wav? No, I guess not... Sad I am going to feel like such a moron when we finally discover the ridiculously simple solution to this seemingly impossible puzzle.

sounds like ai prepositions (ai prepositions = answer to riddle = the operator)

soooo.. how many words rhyme with operator?

alligator.wav?

annotator.wav?

cardioaccelerator.wav?

visit me at noidea.arghh!

Laughing

edit: either a word that sounds like the operator, or someone that sounds like the operator

pre operative?

pre operations?

but maybe not the operator as the SP never calls her that and, technically, she is the Operator at the same time as she is the Queen....

before she became the smart ai -- what was she?

human
girl
woman

between states?
dead - the smart ai uses brains from dead people supposedly, but I don't put anything past these guys

Nothing from the early memories gives an answer to this question, does it?

Further thoughts. This is a riddle: that is, the answer almost certainly involves a play on words. Think along the lines of, "when is a bicycle not a bicycle? When it turns into a driveway," and you have what I have in mind. So, in terms of the question, it rules out such obvious answers as 'the operator'. We need to think outside the box a little here.

If we're talking pre-crash...

She was a spy (deep in Covenant space).
She was undercover (pretending to be a pleasure yacht).
She was hidden.
She was part of the military.
She was infiltrated (by something that moved things about, but did not steal them).

If we're talking post-crash...

She was broken.
She was repaired.
She was split up and separated (from her crew, from Durga and the SP).

And if we're talking in general...

She was different (to how she is now).
She was nice (willing to cover McKaskill, rather than use shockingly excessive force).

I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, but perhaps it will spur greater minds into action. Smile

And she was a weapon

I think we're being a little too literal with the SP's clue. There's no way we could have known that 'sounds like' and a list of 41 prepositions had anything to do with the Queen a week ago, so I don't think it relates to her. I suspect the SP's just hinting that 'preposition' sounds like 'previous position'.

'Course, I tried that.

And 'my_previous_position', 'your_previous_position', 'old_job', 'former_job', 'previous_job', 'my_old_job', 'my_former_job', 'my_previous_job', 'your_old_job', 'your_former_job' and 'your_previous_job'.

So I could be wrong.

going with the idea of "between" perhaps its something like phrases that include between such as:
a rose between to thorns
stuck between a rock and a hard place...
just my two cents...
havn't tried them though...

Yeah, before I went to bed I was thinking along the same lines as Flidget Jerome there. A "pre position" in general terms and then trying to apply the second clue to it. The problem I face is that "position" can mean a lot of things depending on how you look at it. It can mean a job, a title, a stance on something, like a point of view or it can mean an actual physical position, like "hey I'm over here", your position in space. I was thinking maybe it meant some kind of "position" before the crash? Perhaps? Or maybe it's before something else.

But like others have said before I do think it's important not to focus too much on the Queen since that wasn't in the first clue.

operators

Hoping to get an "assist" here, but more likely to get a trout...

Just thought I'd mention, that some (if not all possibly) of the words in the list can be used as operators. Just a coincidence? Spacial, or relational operators? Something we need to DO with the operators in the list?

Could SP's clue be as simple as "PERSON"?

Person sounds like position.

via http://www.ilovebees.com/outbound/permission_given.wav

dunno if this is how you find if its a proper wav, am i doing this right?

Yes casius black, that is how the correct .wav file will be found. I was actually looking at artificial_blank. The second word would begin with an "I", but I already tried everything that was also ten letters long and rhymed with preposition. Still no luck on my end. But I won't give up.
