My unofficial top three off the top five of my head:

#5
-Entry 7: No Not the Script, the Sighting-
This spotting was the most bone chilling to me for some reason. Perhaps it was because that this far in we knew what to expect. It had all the signs of the Operator and the red herring of the car's side mirror made it all the better. After playing the entry over and over again, when I finally saw it I jumped. He was just so creepy there. First time I jumped in the series.

#4
-Entry 14: Bloody Alex-
This was kind of a jumper. We see the Operator's shadowy figure enter Alex's room and then somehow disappear. Cut to the morning and we get Alex staring very close to the camera with blood all over his face. First sight of blood and it was shocking. I remember how into this entry I was. I was sitting on the edge of my bed with my face an inch away from the screen trying to figure out what just happened when boom! Bloody Alex.

#3
-Entry 26: The End and Return-
Season 1 went out with a bang. Jay sums everything up, but you know something is up. Just waiting for it. Then we actually get to see Alex in present day. Him and his girlfriend chit chat and you just know something is gonna happen. Then the screen tear. That fucking screen tear. My eyes went from o_o to O_O in a second. Then we turn around and see one of the Operator's best sightings and all hell breaks loose.

#2
-Entry 19: Watching Jay Sleep-
Big moment in the series where Jay goes from being the hunter looking for the answers to the hunted as the mysterious Masky invades his home. Jay goes to sleep and my eyes are fixed on his window. I think I see the Operator then the biggest screamer in the whole series. The audio goes crazy, the screen jumps and there is the masked man crouching on Jay's dresser like an animal. The quick shots get creepier as he sits swinging his feet, followed by crouching down right next to Jay as he is asleep, ending with a close up of the mask man staring right into the camera. If I was properly hydrated that night I would have pissed myself.

#1
-Entry 18: Back to the House and the New Threat-
Topping my list for a number of reasons. This is the perfect scary entry. Entry 16 seemed to be a big turning point where I expected some answers. What I got was a whole bunch of creepiness and questions. The return was even better. The atmosphere was more intense than ever. The TTA video with the night vision and creepy "I was there" repeating over and over created even more suspense. Someone was there in the house watching Jay. Then Jay finds a creepy ass doll and while my mind is still going on about that he turns around and there is someone on the couch. I was frozen. Then the person runs right at the camera attacking and all hell breaks loose. We don't know what is going on, he is wearing a scary mask, people are having seizures everywhere and I am freaked the fuck out.

So there are my top five scariest moments of marble Hornets.

Entry #26 scared the fuck out of me.

All of the above.

Entry #35, though, has to be one of my absolute favorites, and I'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet. That house downright scared me shitless, the buildup was great, and when Masky jumped out from the basement I freaking SCREAMED. It was just all-around amazing. <3

Entry 26 was the first time I actually jumped during the series. When Amy turns around to put the camera away and TO is right there, I yelled and jumped a bit. Now my girlfriend refuses to watch anything MarbleHornets or Slender Man related. haha

One of the scariest moments for me would still be Entry #1. I remember when the Slenderman concept was still fresh in everyone's minds. The people on Somethingawful kept throwing together incredible Photoshops, drawings, and stories. /x/ was all abuzz about this new monster, we had struck brick-shitting gold. Then this guy comes along; talking about his friend's student film. We're lead to a YouTube channel... and SHIT. It was one thing to see these pictures and imagine what it'd be like to encounter such a horrible thing, but here he was. The Slenderman was real, in front of us, moving. The way he is immediately in your face like that... it was just brilliant.

The introduction of Timasky was even scarier. The way that scene was shot was so well done. We all knew that when Jay turned around, something awful (edit: I just caught this unintended pun, hee-hee) would be waiting behind him. Of course, we all expected The Operator. That isn't what we got. I remember my initial reaction to seeing that man on the couch... it was just a moment of "HUH!?!". It was so unexpected, and then that sprint... oh, god. Someone said it best earlier, it was so animal-like. On the surface it was just a man in a mask, a concept much less terrifying than Slenderman. And yet, Timasky has offered some of the scariest moments in Marble Hornets.

Entry #46 was also one of the first times The Operator has given me a scare in awhile. His second appearance was just so startling, and it's wonderful to see that Troy and Joseph haven't forgotten how to surprise an audience all this time later.

Entry #40 made me shit bricks when The Operator just appeared behind the brick-tree and Jay sprints off. That entry literally had me on the edge of my seat all the way through, you just knew something was going to happen with Jay alone in Rosswood Park. The entry was shot so well too, like when he's sat on the log trying to call Alex; and when he stands up you almost expect Slendy to be there behind him.

I also love Entry #18(?) when we first see Masky. It's already been mentioned but yeah, "animal-like" is definitely the perfect description, plus it was so unexpected.

Pretty much all of the TTA videos have me cowering, if only because the audio is always so frightening. But yeah, I thought Return was unnerving, the way that The Operator just calmly glides towards the camera.

I would have said #33 with the return of TiMasky, but to be fair I was celebrating the fact that he was back rather than being scared.

Definitely this. I have no idea why, but for some reason I thought that we wouldn't see anything creepy happen there.

When I saw the visual tear, I was all "OH SNAP!" and then when it hit I was all "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!"

This, probably forever. Other moments in Marble Hornets have made my skin crawl of frozen me with tension or made me think about it for days or etc... But the first appearance and charge of Masky was the most terrifying thing I've ever seen on any screen.

That being said, while that was the most INSTANTLY terrifying moment, entry 19 gave me trouble sleeping and on the whole was probably more scary to me.

Some backstory: I first learned of Marble Hornets at the very beginning of Season 2, so I decided to watch the earlier entries. I was intrigued after watching the introduction and so hungrily put on Entry One. I didn't know what was going on, so it had me confused and I was looking at the wrong place, and so missed tall, dark and faceless' début.

Come entry 4, there had been quite a build-up and when I first glimpsed the Operator, my eyes widened (also bear in mind I thought this was legit at the time.)

The audio distortion in Entry 5 really disturbed me too, for some reason. At this time, I was only just making the distortion = Operator connection, so I was uneasy the whole time watching (I'd also like to point out it was about 11pm, and I was in a dark house, alone. Greatest time to be introduced to a horror series EVER.)

After watching entry 6, assuming Jay was correct in thinking it was a continuation of #1, I re-watched Entry One and saw him. He was right there, in plain sight and I missed him. I now knew that this series would have me looking everywhere the video for fear of seeing The Operator.

That was a rather long-winded way of saying that my favourite moment of MH was both 1 and 4.

Then of course, along came masky, who's feral introduction caused me to miss a few night's sleep.

Finally, Entry 26 got me. Like punxtr, I saw the visual tear, and went "oh no, here we go." I wasn't disappointed. To this day, I have entries 1, 4, 26, #####, and a few totheark videos saved on my phone in case I need to introduce a friend to the series.

I'll throw in another vote for 19. I was leaning forward because I was so sure something would happen at the window and it was so quiet, and I bet you all know how that turned out for me.

And yeah okay I won't lie, the board falling in 34 made me jump about a foot in the air.

Indicator. ****ing Indicator. The best way to creep me out is with scary doll imagery, and the way they made it crawl across the rug...*shudder* It's the only TTA entry I haven't watched more than twice to try and figure out the imagery.

I don't know the Entry numbers, unfortunately, but still:

-First appearance of Masky, as well as the later appearance of him watching Jay sleep.
-"A Wild Operator appeared!" in Alex's apartment, completely out of nowhere.
-The totheark video with the doll. Oh my god.
-The entry where Jay leaves his bedroom, but you don't see the same door open on the other side(he had two cameras going).
-The more recent entry where Alex approaches the Operator after staggering and coughing.

Tons more that I can't be bothered to write. This whole series has me changing my underwear every other entry.

I have been enjoying reading these and was about to rewatch 18.....and my netbook screen glitches. It's never done that before. It just happened again. I think I will watch me some nyan cat (my anti-slendy calming down vid of choice) and then hide under some covers.

Oh, and I mentioned before that Masky in the hotel room when Jessica disappears was my vote but also basement of doom and Seth's disappearance. Eeesh.
