I'll tell you what HABIT really is

YouTube: Link

The New Article with Roger and HABIT made me shit brix. We always say EMH's plot is convoluted, however I think this is one of their best antagonists by far in any Slenderverse series.

There is a Holloway Lane in NJ near several other recent points of EMH interest. Beyond that I'm not sure of the location mentioned. Tracking down the warehouse itself - if it ever actually existed and is not sheer fiction OOG - will be tough but I am intrigued by the idea. I've had dumber ideas around here.

So yes, I'm still working off lunaticfish's theory from months ago - HABIT wants a new host. The question, then, is what about the kids? Nicholas and Evan? He may yet have 'force-grown' a potential new host by impregnating Nick's mother and training Nicholas to kill someone else - probably Evan - but the question is, is he having them to duke it out to see which is hardier and can house him better? Or is it as we thought, he wants out of his current digs and into one of the Rabbits? Or all of the above?

The first thing I thought of with HABIT influencing everyone to kill each other made me think. Wasn't there a newspaper article (or something) claiming Dr. Corenthal incited a riot?

Edit: This one
Quote:
Suspect children's doctor flees yet another murder
August 16th, 2005 – The Trenton Times
The entirety of the River Road / Lambertville corridor was shut down early Monday morning. Police warned of a highly-dangerous suspect in the region, after finding a small eatery massacred in downtown Lambertville. The inside of the restaurant was likened to that of a riot, implicating a massive fight. At least a dozen bodies were found in the aftermath of the skirmish, with the total count unclear. A security feed shows the suspected James Corenthal fighting off the victims. Corenthal is first seen backing into the frame, leaving investigators to believe that he induced the riot. He was last seen fleeing the eatery and into his car. The vehicle was found discarded less than half a mile down the road, on Fiddler's Creek Road. Corenthal is suspected to be hiding out in the state park.

This has not much to do with anything, and I'm not sure how many here are familiar with Death Note, but I get a very Kira-like vibe from HABIT. As if he sees himself as a god who can control and manipulate things to his very will and his plans are convoluted and thought out as if this were all an intense game of chess. He knows several moves ahead to prevent losing.

Funny how HABIT mentioned Rob Zombie, seeing how when Evan attacked Slenderman with a bat he was wearing a White Zombie shirt.

This.
I too am familiar with Death Note and also got that vibe from HABIT. He is definitely very intelligent and that makes him much scarier.

When you peeps are done bashing one of my all time favorite artists... ;__;

General thoughts so far:
- Good point on the Corenthal "riot". Also, is this another possible bit of evidence for Corenthal inHABITation?
- I am boggled over why Evan, especially Fairmount Evan, a child... and then Evan again later. I feel like I overlooked something, I need to read it again.
- HABIT may intend to "test drive" the remaining seven Rabbits? That was always an option, but now it's looking, I guess, most possible.
- If HABIT is looking for a "perfect shell", I'm probably dead, just sayin'.
- Okay so we can't force HABIT out of Evan. If HABIT is looking for a new shell, then I suppose he would leave Evan once a Rabbit is chosen. Problem is, I am worried that the "leaving" will kill Ev.
- Also, wherever HABIT's hidey hole is (Holloway/HoL?), the very last thing we should do is let the guys go there, or even tell them where it is, should we find it.

A thought about the "riot" Corenthal was involved in: the report says he was fighting off the victims. What if HABIT couldn't possess Corenthal for whatever reason and the "riot" was him trying to kill the good doctor off using a bunch of influenced people?

I have a fair believe that HABIT may or may not be the ghost of Jack the Ripper.

Let me explain.

HABIT is similar to Lucifer in "Sympathy for the Devil" - he's everywhere and in everybody. He claims to have been around for a long, long time and stole many man's soul. Then again, I do not believe he truly is THAT big. While I believe what is posted, mostly, I am also sure he's 'younger' than we are led to believe.

My first though was a demon, but then something struck me: the ending of Alan Moore's From Hell. For those not familiar, it includes a passage where the ghost of Jack the Ripper floats through space and time, clashing with various people and influencing their lives.

Considering his love of knives and that he popped up before the Nazi's were around, I figured he was a rather young entity. Jack the Ripper struck at the end of the 19th century, widely believed to be the first mass murderer. And one who used knives prominently.

I think that, somehow, this ghost survived and taught itself to possess human bodies, looking for a shell - he had a few decades until the 30s, when he went into full mode.
From then on, he roamed and started to plan his 'breeding program'. If I am right, then he is actually raping women to impregnate them, and then tests his own kids.

Now comes the interesting part. We know EVAN was, more or less, his kid. Corenthal took the kids in, then they disappeared.

I believe that Slenderman tries to protect the kids from HABIT. What he did was snatch them up and take them into the future, including some nice mind alteration.

One thing I still have not figured out is the Candleverse, and Rake. While I still believe that with EMH, Slenderman is a symbol for trauma, and Rake for death, his inclusion still puzzles me.

I'm going to leave your theory about Jack the Ripper alone for now, because I can't manage the brainpower to create a counter-argument to that. But your analysis of the antagonists intrigued me. I can definitely see how Slenderman could represent trauma, but how does the Rake signify death? And how does Alex fit into that symbol?

Yeah, the whole time I was reading the last CYSTW, I thought of Death Note. The whole warehouse thing made it even better. Too bad HABIT didn't face the same fate Kira did there...

with the new post it made me think of something:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Remember back when Evan tried to go to bat with SM? Could he have been inHABITed then? If so, that might mean he is now dead and Habit has been in him since. That would mean not so great things if HABIT left his body wouldn't it? Kinda like Jason's spirit in Jason Goes To Hell. Just a thought....

It's been a pet theory of mine that he was at least partially inHABITed in that scene. Smile

But yeah, bad things on the horizon, man. *readies popcorn*
