I don't know about the ending, but I DO know what I want the ending ending to be.

After all is resolved, Jay shows a raw tape from Marble Hornets, with a kind of pretentious dialogue, monologue, or eulogy. It would be with Brian and Tim reminiscing about life and then ends with an analogy about how our lives are like "Marble Hornets"

Maybe it would really focus on fear, paranoia, and being stalked.

You know, this could be the only way to bring Brian and maybe some of the others back into the series, via an "old" tape that somehow relates to the whole series unintentionally, and resolves it the best it can.

You know, that would be really awesome. Great thought. High fives all around

What I think would be interesting is for MarbleHornets (The Channel) to be an (In Story) creation of (IN story) Troy,Joseph, and Tim etc. (Mirroring the reality) meaning that The Horror MarbleHornets was the Student Film all along.

With the (OOG) Actors playing in game versions of themselves, complete with a for the lolz ending hinting that the Slenderman (IE from TT and EMH) implied to be stalking them...

Normally, I'm a pretty good when it comes to understanding how a narrative weaves together, but when it's being played in these small, shifting episodes that aren't necessarily in order, it's hard to find grounding to tip these things into more obvious light. Some things are pretty clear and some are super murky. Not all the hints fit together quite well enough to tell.

I like the idea that I posited a little earlier on Entry 49, though. Slendy's reality origami (reality folds around him into the shape of a distorted human) who wreaks havok on the lives of the people who see him. As he gets more noticed, he gains power and becomes more noticable (note, Slendy's very rarely, if ever, hiding in the background of these videos anymore). It's a horror story, and what fills a reader with more terror than the prospect that we've all been infected with this reality origami and it's all Jay's fault because he didn't know that when he started sharing the videos. Now he's doomed us all to lives of being hunted by Slendy Twisted Evil .

I think it'd be strange to see this in season three, but not primarily the ending:

Alex walking away
Jay behind him
J: "Alex!"
Alex pauses, turns around
J pauses
"What's the key go to?"
Alex stares at J
"It goes to the ark"
and then he walks away

Rolling Eyes

Since we've recently waltzed right into the territory where people certainly die here and shit gets real, this is one way it could end:

*Alex reveals his slenderness in Rosswood in 38's continuation
*Jay runs, gets killed, and we don't hear from him for a little bit
(the above happened but we dont know it as of yet)

It's all revealed enttry 37 style, or on the TTA channel, TTA and the maskies having found the remains of Jay and his beloved camera.

Regardless it is revealed to us by TTA. In my opinion, that would be a big slam to the ending of the series.

But...Jay is still alive. How could Jay have died in the continuation of 38 and then still be alive to post entry 38 in the first place?

Disney's Ending:
"And the dreadful Slenderman was killed! Alex and Jay hugged and vowed to never get themselves into anything like it again. Amy was returned to Alex and Jessica returned home to her parents. But... In the darkness... ToTheArk watches... *Queue Straight-To-DVD Sequel*"

Pixar's Ending:
"Alex was killed by the Operator... He is buried in Rosswood park. Only Jay attends the funeral, he stares at the grave and says 'You know Alex, you kept a lot of secrets from me. So here's mine. I'm ToTheArk.' And the Operator had completed his tax, eliminate Alex Kralie. 'Don't f*ck with Big OP'".

300-Style Ending:
"And they all died. The end."

BUT SERIOUSLY...
this isn't wayne's world

I'm going with Rorschachian's idea, best one I've heard so far Smile

Quote:
Jay:
"What's the key go to?"
Alex stares at Jay
Alex:
"It goes to the ark"
and then he walks away

Not to mention that we've had a few "in the present moments" in this season. All of the hotel videos are supposed to be going on right now (unless I'm mistaken), and last we saw from the hotel was Jessica going *poof* and Masky rushing Jay out of there. We don't even know where he's posting from right now, really, or if it's actually him anymore. Sure he could be dead and somebody else has taken over his channel pretending to be him, but then why with the consistancy? The only agenda that changed when we went back to viewing videos of the past three months was that Jay's avoiding posting videos of what's going on in the present. If I were scared for my life, I wouldn't make that stuff public either.

I think the ending will bring about some closure and won't be as ambigious as the endings of Paranormal Activity (sequel? What sequel?*) or The Blair Witch Project. Not that anything was wrong with those films, but the ending worked well for the format they were in - a two and a half hour drama.

Marble Hornets is a serial story which has been running since 2009 and people have had a lot more time to invest in it. I think the ending will be somewhat ambigious still, but will have a real sense of closure and many questions brought up will be answered.

Watched the whole serial this week and it it so awesome Smile
* I didn't hate PA2, I really enjoyed it, but I really wish Hollywood had left it as it was.

Oh darn. Perhaps Jay met his demise during the Tweetpocalypse?

Also probably not likely. hmm.

At any rate, if the ending was revealed to us by TTA, be it Jay's final bow or not, it would still be a great ending. For some reason, the thought that the others were more concurrent didn't occur to me. Wibbly wobbly storylines, i suppose.

Hmm....My guess? Cut to Emma's bedroom. Amy uncovers a ritual from her experiences which will protect them from Slenderman, as long as they stay inside a Pagan chalk circle (my apologies to any Mexican posters, I'm not really acquianted with witchcraft practices there). We see the Jessica and Amy drawing up a chalk circle and begin a Pagan-like ritiaul to protect themselves from Slenderman, one which Emma learnt from when she was in Mexico. Jay is busy fussing over the camera, outside of the circle. The two girls don't rush him, as by now they have adjusted to Jay's camera obbession.

Slenderman turns up suddenly in the doorway. The two women urge Jay to get inside the circle, but by this time, he's had enough. Jay lies frozen to the spot, unable to move. The girls scream as Slenderman moves in, slowly, almost patiently towards Jay and then he breaks Jay's neck. He falls lifeless to the floor. He moves towards them, slowly, relentlessly, moving towards them. Amy holds Jessica tightly, who is screaming hysterically, desperate, somehow, to get to Jay's body. She tries to move out of the circle, but Amy continues to hold her. Slenderman moves closer, closer towards them, barely a breath away and then....

The camera flickers.
And Slenderman is not there.
No FX, he is simply not in the shot.

Jessica breaks away from Amy and rushes over to Jay's body and screams hysterically, crying her eyes out. Amy nearly catanonic, mummbles: "I think it worked."

Cut to a caption:

It's been six months since then....and nothing has happened.
No Slenderman.
We don't even know if it was Slenderman.

We're trying to move on with our lives.

But we're leaving the videos here, so that other people can be on guard. So that they know exactly what their up agasint.

As for The Ark, c'mon, I really don't think it's going to be anything good. For me, it's clearly connected to the odd behaviour of Jay, Alex and Logan, someone clearly directly under the influence of....whatever it is. Given the smashed dolls and the attempt to 'fix' them up, it looks more like brain washing. Maybe Jay is the one broken and can't be fixed?
