I'm one of the rank and files, along with my brother. I'm hoping Melissa will contact us somehow (maybe through e-mail?), and get us to confirm our rank and names.

One things for sure. The PM's really know how to keep things interesting and fun.

So, I think I've been demoted Sad , or maybe not...

I'm listed under "Navigation & Communication simply as "Phaedra."

I'm also listed under "Rank & File" as "Lt. Col. Phaedre."

jellyfish_green was apparently under the impression that I was an AI, and now, apparently Melissa thinks I've split. Smile

 		Okay, seems I trouted this earlier (my bad), but I have apparently jumped from Lieutenant Junior Grade to Lieutenant Commander, skipping regular Lieutenant altogether. I wondered if taking all those photos was worth it, but look at me now. I jumped an entire pay scale!

The only military folks without rank seem to be AI's, so if Melissa wants you to rank among AIs, I'd be honored! And I'd try to see what I could get away with under AI status! AI's can do just about anything. The pay might be a bit stingy though... =)

 		When I submitted I listed as Specialist - Got that
I also listed as Intel Analyst and Cryptology - no mention
But did get bumped from Rank and File to Nav/Com as Spec. Buzzkill247 - So is there ryhme or reason?.... tough call.... We are dealing with a slightly off kilter AI here DOH!

Yeah on the rank and file page it shows me as a Junior Lieutenant. (Jr. Lt.) But on the new recipe6.html page it has me listed at the bottom for my personal call as Lieutenant. (Lt.)

Well, in all honestly, I think jellyfish_green probably meant the suggestion as a joke, and I was joking when I suggested that Melissa might think I'm an AI that split.

Her only in-game information about me came from the live phone call we had (in which I managed only "ums" and "okays," the email Mad Cow sent her telling her that we were coordinating last weeks axon relay (which, of course, didn't materialize Smile ) and the picture I sent her. Therefore, the only people who know anything about any skills I have are here on this forum, so Melissa has no reason to think that there's anything that qualifies me for anything beyond what I applied for: Nav & Comm. In addition, the ship's already got an AI: Melissa, and she doesn't exactly play well with other AIs.

I think that the actual reason behind it was that the PMs had a gazillion and one emails coming in, were probably tired, and were in a hurry, so they accidentally listed me twice, spelled my name wrong in one instance and forgot my (and vpisteve's) rank in another.

That said, it would be fun if she thought I were. But I think I'm a bit too capricious to make a good AI. And the process of becoming one sounds a bit...unpleasant, what with the dying and all.

Actually, it makes sense that they forgot my rank, because I signed the email with which I sent the picture "Phaedra." What's interesting is that they *remembered* it, but not the spelling of my name, in the rank and file.

 		Holy cow Mad Cow, that fortune cookie blows my mind! I mean i could understand just the fortune being coincidence, a really creepy one at that. But the little bee... I don't know what to think. Is there a way the PMs could rig your fortune cookie? LOL Or do all fortune cookies from that chinese restaurant have bees? I want one Razz

Strange, not sure if that means anything or not. I noticed that while I applied under Sci & Med, I got filed under Mech & Eng (I suppose just because one is trained as a scientist, one may still perform the role of an Engineer) as well as Rank & File 3 times?! 3 of the 4 list me as 'Ensign' while 1 of the Rank & File entries list me as 'Ens'. Strangeness abounds.

I wouldn't be too weirded out about the "Ens"-"Ensign" business. "Ens." is just an abbreviation of "Ensign." Maybe they got tired of typing it out.

Well, if you're listed four times, that means you get to do four times the work. Get cracking. Smile

Seriously, the PMs must have been really tired. Or Melissa is falling apart. I hope it's the former, although I have a feeling that Melissa is going to meet with a tragic end.
