Floor 5 Puzzle aka the "giant glass floor boxes" puzzle Well.... there's a box, and some glass (?) thingies that move.

Start with the larger numbers, I think it's kind of like sudoku [no idea what else to compare it to]
I was stuck because I was thinking it was supposed to be something related to the prelude comics, but it looks like it's basically a graph. Just...sideways. 1 2 2 1 will have one blackened box, then 2, then 2 again, then 1 other one. You have to figure out where they go from the other side's numbers. Hope that makes sense

then again I could be entirely wrong, it's just that that was the only pattern that I could see in it

Thanks, but I need actual screencaps of the puzzle itself in order to figure this out.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Each line/column has a number string "1 2 1 1" et cetera. It means that the column must have 1 dark space, then some unknown buffer space(s), then 2 dark spaces, et cetera. Basically work off the columns that partially start another dark space, infer from the number string next to it, and finish darkening the spaces. Never assume you know the buffer is one space or two spaces or otherwise. Simple move onto the next partially completed column--doing this will eventually solve the thing in no time at all.

Not sure of the origin of the QR codes but I photoshop'd out my solution for the first based on them.
Hope this helps. The actual solution screen goes by faster than an icefly.

Ok, here it goes... hoep this makes sense.
the qr codes that were posted by billhouse are the key.
the light sections cannot be changed. use them as a key. you have to darken the not so light sections to match the center of the qr code. if you look at the qr code from billhouse and rotate it 90 degrees to the right. look at the pattern of the outer edges of the code. then match them up to the light parts of the puzzle. Then work on matching the center portion. it helps if you expand the qr code to make it as big as possible. i solved them both like that
the numbers identify how many dark spaces there are in each row
ie. 1214 would be one black space, white space(s), two dark, white space(s), one dark, white spaces(s), 4 dark spaces

Oh, hey, I just noticed. The QR codes on our profiles have been updated, and the new squares are the answers to this puzzle.
Neat. I wonder if that's how we'll be filling in the rest of them.

Sneaky buggers with their QR pieces. I just figured it out from the numbers. Good eye.

It helped me to think of the numbers on the sides like the numbers on minesweeper. The black spaces are bombs so 124 would tell you that there's one bomb, then two, then four.
