Okay, so:

First this Entry 49, Alex calls Jay (I'm gonna say with intent to make a Slendy snack of him)

Then Entry 38 happens. After the video cuts off, Alex attacks Jay. Maybe the Operator shows up. Jay fights, gets the chest camera from Alex, runs and leads into Entry 29. Jay finds the blood from white shirt dude and looks up at the end of the tunnel. And at this point, given that Alex himself is now distorting cameras, that could be Alex or The Operator at the end of the tunnel. Brr, it's all starting to come together in a most unpleasant way.

This might mean Alex wasn't unhappy that Jay went wandering Rosswood park by himself earlier. He might have been unhappy that Jay got out alive back in 40.

Poor Bruce. Not even a montage in his memory.

I don't think Alex so much spared Jay as it was Jay didn't make the mistake of actually approaching Alex.

Unlike poor, poor Bruce.

My main thought when he was killing that guy was, why didn't he kill J when he saw that J followed him to the tunnel? It'll be really silly if Alex is just super unathletic and can't catch the least coordinated person alive (if J's sneaking skills and ability to escape Rosswood in #42 is any indication). Alex must either genuinely like J or J must tie into a later plot point somehow.

Overanalyzing, bro. He /was/ saying "Don't follow me", so he clearly wanted Jay to get lost as he did.

They're not martial artists. One's a hapless passerby and the other is a tunnel-dwelling, paranoid, (and apparently batcrap crazy) filmaker. Like most every other action in the show, the fight between them looked like how a real fight like that would go.

Alex whispered "Stop following me, I know you're there." He whispered it when walking through the woods, when a light amount of static came up (I want to say around 1:15). I think he knew the operator was following him and was talking to him, and actually tried to attack him.

I would doubt about the operator attacking him. I think it was more directed at Jay or hoody masky. its at 1:19 and 1:25 when he talks.

That's what I'm saying, he whispers it. I don't think he would've whispered it if it were to Jay or a mask.

But I will admit that I hadn't considered it being a mask... Still makes the most sense for him to have shouted (like in 45) if he were talking to someone other than the operator though.
I agree on the basis that Alex would have to yell that to Jay in order for Jay to hear Alex over Jay's INCREDIBLY LOUD FOOTSTEPS!

I wonder if perhaps Alex knew J was following him and thought that he was also (whether intentionally or not) leading a Masky there? Would explain the "don't follow me" at a time when we know J was actually following him and whiteshirt couldn't have been. Also would explain why Alex would try to kill the person who approached him after J gtfo.

In terms of timeline, what seems most plausible is that Jay has been watching this the whole time, waits for Alex to leave, then enters the tunnel himself. At that point the events in the tunnel that were on Jay's camera, with the bloody rock, occur. The next day is entry 38.

I think we have to assume that part of Jay's memory was erased when he encountered the Operator--why else would he agree to meet Alex after having witnessed these events?
We pretty much see Jay get in his car and GTFO at the end of 48.

Yeah, he didn't know what Alex did after Alex saw him and Jay ran.

Ah true, my mistake. That being said, we can at least be sure that entry 29 occurs later in the same day, and not the next one, as the blood on the rock is still wet--some of it gets on Jay's fingers in 29.

No, a real fight looks like two people fighting. This fight looks like a ton of blurry shots of someone's shirt. Big difference.

I'd put the timeline as:
At the end of 49 Alex calls and tells Jay to meet him at Rosswood park the next day, setting up the events in 38. Jay however, called Jessica and she followed, helping Jay escape. Jay then decides to check out what happened at the tunnel yesterday, and that's how we get to 29.

So it goes: 48/49, 38, 29.

I thought it looked pretty real.

So who wants to scrub through this frame by frame to catch everything in those quick flashes?

Not it!

As for the entry, I loved the camera angle in the tunnel. Alex really did look rather Slendy-like.
