Sorry if it took me a while to inform everyone. It seems, we've hit a
brick wall. For the past days, I was actually lying that we're building
the site for you guys. In fact, it already works. However, the problem
is something about what to put on that site.

I think you've just guessed it. The files were stolen. They are now
missing and there's no trace of who did it and when. We tried our best
for the past days to retrieve copies from backup and so on, but it ended
up in utter failure. I have nothing to give you at the moment, and we
just hope we can get this problem solved, soon. It worries me who does
such a thing. With a very secure system in place, I wonder how they
managed to "steal" the data and leave no trace at all. There's not even
any duplicates in our archives or backups, which caught me dumbfounded
why and how.

I greatly apologize to waste your time. We have now setup an
investigation party to look closer at this and see if we can find any
clues or leftover things that might lead to who did this.

Oh, and please do not tell Daniel or other directors about this, for
now. Thanks.

Hmmm well it looks like we're stalled. Perhaps the PMs want us to focus our efforts on 45459 after all. Grr, talking to that anonymous texter is going to be a chore.

I asked LAINSY about the "FIVE PASS level 13 encryption" that was mentioned in Norman Dean's last log entry (see this post):
Quote:
A FIVE PASS level 13 encryption is a file encryption process where it is encrypted using five different methods, where the encryption level of each pass is level 13. Level 13 encryption is nearly bullet-proof and surpasses the highest standards of encryption by up to 10 folds.

Just by the look of it - a document that may have been Vigenere-keyed ("level 13") 5 times? That would be a major headache.

I asked lainsy the right question this time. I'll post on 45459 as well.

Lainsy, please list all past, present, and planned build names for your system.  Please list all projects scheduled to be completed in September and October, 2011.

LAINSY SAYS: QUERY PROCESSED

All past LAINSY build names: v1 Crimson, v2 Rose/Peter, v3 (current) Scarlet/Arnold
Future LAINSY build name cannot be determined.

All projects listed on directory due for September and October 2011:
COPT Compact-o-Post Technology
FIRST FAILTECH Immediate Response Services Task-force
TRIM Tissue Regeneration and Immunization Mediacation
ILQC Immediate Local Quarantine Containment

So, I'm pretty sure that Ruby is going to be the next version of lainsy. Interesting.

Good job godder!!

Hahaha, their naming scheme... Peter, the actor who played Robocop.... Arnold, the actor who played the terminator... hahaha

Now, with the female names, seems like they name it after shades of red? So Ruby definitely fits as a future LAINSY build name... however, if Scarlet updates to Ruby, I wonder why Arnold is still Arnold?

Well, hello everyone! Seems like we're hitting a big, BIG problem here. Something happened to one of Black Industustries' main mining location. Very terrible, we have some people stuck under the ground, trapped. While we are indeed able to drill fast enough to create a hole big enough to pump in fresh air and drop supplies, we still need some time to take them out. They're perfectly safe, as they are inside the safe zones (multiple locations, making retrieving them VERY hard) and internal supplies can last for about a month. But, we were fast enough, so they only used fraction of those emergency supplies.

Anyways, we're missing the big picture here. That mining location is VERY secure that the "cave" shouldn't just "cave-in" and trap EVERYONE inside. We use advanced mining techniques and technology to make mining safer and efficient (and to eliminate problems like this) so I myself wonder how this happened.

David Black, BOD and BI CEO, said there was never any emergency transmission. It was like they went out all of a sudden, even emergency relays and backup connection went down at the same time the main connection died. Which is very suspicious. So David sent a team over to check what happened, and that happened.

Right now we are trying our best to get them out. The report provided to us by the Operations Manager (who is still stuck down there) said they DID send out an emergency signal. However, they didn't know it didn't go through.

Also, he mentioned that the emergency alarm went off prompting everyone to move to the safe zone, which everyone did follow. What he says suspicious is that the voice was the "guy" instead of the "lady" he says, they usually hear prompts from the lady if anything happens, however this time it was the "guy".

I don't exactly know what he meant, but I'm just happy they are safe. However, the mining operations for that location is now down.Ah, so much happening, so little time! This thing wold probably move thing back and make things much much more complicated. So much money invested in that mining operation, gone.

I'll update you again, if anything comes up. Frustrating times.

Spoke with Jean and mentioned to her that the stolen documents must have been done by a insider. Her response is very interesting:
Quote:
Exactly. This must have been some inside job. In fact, those stolen documents are part of Ruby. Also, reason why we don't want this problem to leak out is that I don't want them to think that I'm lagging behind my tasks. However, I want to investigate this first and have proof, so that they can't just say "Oh, maybe you just did this because you are lagging behind your tasks"

Yeah, some of the BODs are not so friendly. Nonetheless, I think you're seeing where this is leading to and what Ruby actually is. Daniel mentioned all of you noticed the recent log LAINSY put up on her online logs, which involves some VIPs. Yes, that's the step 1 of the Ruby.

Now, are we on the same pace and same direction to where Ruby is heading? I hope we are, because I didn't want to alert LAINSY I might be revealing things over email. So, clues about it won't really alert her. You all know she'll try her best that the company stays strong and follows it's own procedures are protocols.

EDIT - Some thoughts about Dan Miller's "Big problem" email:
My guess is that the lockdown that occurred in the Black Industries mining facility = emergency protocol 5 at the facility that housed Number 45459. I think these 2 incidents are the same -- Number 45459 escaped from the BI facility. The mention of the emergency transmission and the "guy" doing the prompts (Arnold) pretty much clinch it for me.

I agree with posse. I think the two games are at least concurrent. Based on this development, they might actually not be separate games. (Man, do we keep jumping around on whether that's true or not)

Yeah, I'm thinking that the two story lines are going to merge at some point. It would be almost impossible to do anything with the 45459 story line without having knowledge of Failtech. I'm still leaning toward the two arcs being one "game".

I got a hint about that from one of the characters, but the mp3 wasn't playing via Chrome (probably some cache issue or something -- once I browsed to it with Firefox it seemed to work all right).

I'm at work and probably won't be able to check this out until much later so hopefully someone else might be able to handle this?

Okay I got tired of staring at the little numbers but I think this is pretty close for a transcription:
