Alex accidentally unfiction. I swear, that boy ain't right.

Regarding the thread: just keep on truckin, man. You don't need a bunch of people to make a great Slendy series (it just makes it easier lol). Trust me, if you're making quality content you WILL be recognized eventually. The community here on UF, like as elsewhere in the slenderverse, is receptive to new ideas. They just have to be good. Making a MH rehash can only get you so far. It could be done well, but if it isn't original, it's going to be forgotten. Seeing as EMH, TT and MH WILL undoubtedly endgame eventually, new slots will open for the top slender series. I can see the smaller series like DH, MLA and TJA growing in popularity after that, but who knows? A new series can always take people by surprise and be amazing.

My one hope is that once the big three endgame, the Slender community won't just throw in the towel. Hopefully they'll still be open to new series. To newcomers thinking of making a vlog: Just take it very seriously - know about film, how to make a coherent narrative, etc. beforehand. It makes things a lot easier. Plan ahead and if you got some kickass ideas and a way to implement them, you will get noticed. Most of the series that fade into oblivion do so because they're boring, not bringing anything new to the table, or just plain poorly made. But I'm sure there are those out there with new twists on the Mythos that will undoubtedly take a crack at making their own vlog.

Good luck, my friend and godspeed.

I hear you.

I am making my own slendy series, and am having my own troubles. I have had a lot of people quit and have had more trouble having people showing up. We started like in June but we only just posted a 48 second video a month ago. But someday someone will have to recognize a good series as a good series. It's just common sense. So to you, me and to all new series my only advice is to keep trying, someday people will see it and enjoy it.

Well, first, nothing's finished yet (except Angel's Game). That being said, I think the vlogmythos are in good hands for the next gen with the likes of Hurk Derpish, MLA, the TJA girls and perhaps stuff like A Pretentious Collection, 5zer0, and some others I have yet to check out. There's also doingJackall, and 004Steps. 004Steps is the first watchable series I've encountered made by kids that young, and that's a huge change. As long as people keep innovating, you'll be alright.

However, no, a Slendyvlog is not something I think you want to enter into alone. Unless your story is rigidly structured for that.

Dude, I live in Tampa. If that's close enough for you (and for me, more importantly), I will lend a hand if you ask for one. To be honest, I just want to help because of proximity. I know jack shit about film, lighting, et cetera. Better yet, just chat if it helps. Maybe find some creepy locations.

I fully agree. My story has changed drastically since episode one. Entering uncharted waters is scary, but I'm going to just flow with it and hope all is acceptable.

As far as getting bodies and hands to help carry out your ideas, have you looked beyond Slenderfans?

I am involved with a group called the Artistic License Studio, but I am against using pros. I like having people that I can mold... I know I'm dumb...

My advice, If you truly can't find anyone to help you, do it in chunks. I'm progressing much faster using this method of dissecting each episode into steps and then doing the steps that are easiest first. It might also give you time to rethink concepts, and enhance ideas you've had before.

(Goddamn, Nimbus just posted this when i first attempted to send this. My words instantly mean nothing now.)

Your words do mean something and I will use them. Thank you for the advise.

What's even worse than working alone is working with someone unreliable. We have a project in the works but one of our actors (a main character) is bloody unreliable and we have had to cancel several shoots.

I agree. That is one of the reasons I am having so much trouble. I wont settle for less then reliable. My show is done in real time, with the dates listed, so I can't afford to have a no-show.

I really did try to get majority of responses. Sorry if I missed anyone.

I one-hundred percent agree, it's really annoying working alone. Especially when you had someone working with you in the beginning but they decided not to go with it.

I wanted to thank all for your support! Voicing your sympathy and suggestions and offers for help mean a lot to me. hopefully I will get the chance to work with punxtr and many have offered me a critique of my series which is greatly appreciated. Now I shall have several opinions to help guide me in my times of uncertainty. I felt isolated before my post, but now I see what this community is all about and it is F#()!^& Awesome!

Glad we could help (because, you know, I obviously was the biggest help here). Just keep working at it. Caughtnotsleeping is great I think because of the interactive elements and the way that it really tailors itself to giving veiwers unique experiences. Like, when everyone got that personalized message from the proxy Help3r. Moreover, that makes the series very unique. And it's why we talk about it a lot.
I think the most important thing to take from that is, well, we've all seen straight-forward Slendy from MH and TT. It's the new approaches to Slender that make people curious and interested. Try really thinking about ways to engage the audience in ways they haven't been before. Or give and interactive element a try, and if it fails, oh well.
Good luck dood. Remember that we're all buddies here in Slender-land. Ask for help and ye will receive!

Working alone isn't very well. If it weren't for my co-writer our story for One Bad Dream would've never truly evolved. If you watch it, we started out shitty and terrible effects, 'least our story was pretty much straight. Though it wasn't until later on we finally decided what to do.

The worst part is commitment. I had someone constantly change their mind about helping us until I finally said 'fuck it, write him out. He's dying.'

The entire thought of
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
adding ZALGO as an antagonist
wasn't a full fledged thought until a month or so ago, and we began deciding exactly what was going to happen with our characters and 3 little supernatural beings.

The point is, as long as you're creative and bring a positive vibe, attracting the right people will always end up on your favor. I mean, most of my actors I know in real life of course, and have been life-long friends, but it was the fun of the project that kept us together this long (We're pretty young for a series despite that)

Since I'm in Brevard County, FL, I'll try to help out at all if I somehow can.

Going full interactive is not really a option for me. I wouldn't try to swim if I had no arms and only one leg. My point being I'm not cut out for it. Caught is obviously a very intelligent person when it comes to interaction with the audience. I am not. If I try and force my weakness then I will surly fail. Like when the Elephant Man tried to sleep like a normal person. Besides my role-models are MH and TT. So if I have to go out making a straight forwards series like theirs then so be it.

It sucks because you live close, but just far enough away where it would be very difficult to get together. I live in Saint Petersburg which is about 2 and 1/2 hours to 3 hours away. Maybe one day we could get together for a cross-over. Shoot a bunch of stuff and distribute it into our series. That would be pretty awesome.

I thank you both for your ideas and support!

Perhaps one day, when we some day become as popular as TT and EMH Rolling Eyes

Has a trailhead been posted here? Obviously (well it should be obvious, but a lot of people don't seem to have read the rules since they keep doing it) you can't post the trailhead yourself but you could ask the Trailhead Troll or another poster to put up the trailhead for you.

If it has been posted then I can't really help you.
