I don't know if this is all trolling or whatnot, and I really couldn't care less. People should have more pride in their craftsmanship of things, certainly, and if this was done to troll, then it should be at least a well crafted troll. It seems this is done as some sort of lamprey-like gamejacking to me, but even that isn't very good. I must admit, a gamejack under the notion of wondering if somebody else is gamejacking certainly is interesting (as hipsters would say, "very meta..."), but in this case, it was not well crafted either. It would have been much creepier to have gotten the vanity number (they exist, they cost bookoo bucks, but they exist) and started hunting down cell phone numbers of unfiction people to text. At the very least, it'd make it seem real, but now... it's just dumb, and you've played your chance on it.

 		Just popping back in here to dispel the rumours. No, I'm not trying to gamejack, and no, I'm not trying to troll. This happened to me, but I can easily see how you guys don't buy it; if I didn't see it, I wouldn't have bought it, myself.

I did find out who was responsible, though. A friend of mine, being a fucktard, figured out I was into MH and decided to fuck with me. He got a vanity number for free (cheap bastard...) from Google Voice and started texting me shit. He could've been a bit more creative than just using text from years-old videos, but he's a nit.

The point is, I wasn't trying to start anything on here. I'm not a gamejacker, I'm not a troll, I wasn't trying to insert myself into the story in any way. I just wanted to see if I was alone in this, because, if any of you are a part of the Jadusable story, you'll remember that a similar situation happened with the phone calls and then the letters. Obviously, my friend hasn't been texting anyone else on this forum, and it's neither Troy nor Joseph (or anyone else on the MH staff for that matter).

I don't really expect any of you to believe anything I'm saying now, because from what I've seen, once you're accused of being a gamejacker/troll, it's pretty hard to convince people otherwise. I will say that I apologise for any misunderstandings I caused, but I assure you all I meant no harm whatsoever.

I can't say whether or not I believe this whole scenario, and in all honesty at this point I really have stopped caring whether this was a failed gamejack attempt, trolling, or an honest story. But honestly, if it ends up Δ sticks around and makes some valid contributions to the forum from now on, I'd rather just let this go for now and have another person welcomed into the forums without being ostracized from the get-go because they made a blunder in terms of forum etiquette. We lose enough (potentially) good people that way, and sometimes we seem like dicks when we snap at everyone who makes mistakes in their first 20 posts.

This is why I'm normally no more than a lurker on pretty much every forum I ever go to. There's only been one exception to that rule. I guess I'm just not "hip" on forum etiquette anymore. I was confused, didn't know what to do, so I just threw together a thread really quick. Apparently, that was wrong. I didn't know. Every forum has different rules, and I didn't know at the time.

As far as making valid contributions, I will -- if I have any to make. Like I said, I'm mostly a lurker, and while sometimes I have valid points to make, oftentimes they'll be made before I even get to the thread. So, mostly, I keep quiet and try not to disturb the peace. (Keyword there being try. There won't be a repeat of this blunder, I promise.)

Again, I thank you for your understanding, even if it's just one person. You at least made me feel better about this whole fiasco.

Oh, and, yeah, I know, I'll try not to be so gullible from now on. Δ's a derp, we all oughta know by now. Razz

I should apologize. I realize what I said may have come off vilifying and that's not what I intended. I believe you that it's likely a friend just decided to play a cruel joke on you, mainly because there's no real harm at the moment in believing otherwise. That was sort of what I was trying to say, and it must have come out wrong. If it's not apparent right now, I'm a literary critic, and I tend to be a stickler when it comes to story crafting. In truth, I would have been okay with a little bit of actual gamejacking, honestly, as long as it ended up being a side-story that didn't actually have an effect on Trey's work, and the theories that we come up with on here. I think it could have been a bit of harmless fun that, in time, would have grown into something particularly intriguing and a mark that you, Δ, with a little bit of practice, could run a competent ARG yourself with a storyline independent of MH.

Still, I must say that whatever this was, gamejacking, trolling, or a prank pulled on Δ, it's definitely a first draft on the side of the author (either Δ or the pranking friend) and should have been more fully thought out in any case. If Δ (or anyone else, for that matter) wants to write his or her own game, I say that he/she should find a collaborator, write at least a good, strong beginning and a rough sketch of a middle and end (depending on how long they plan the game to last) and pull together the resources over time. That way we'll have another thing to obsess about in about a year when Trey finishes this and we're left with nothing to do. Remember, MH, started as a fun little film project and now it's something that brings some of us to this forum every day. An entirely new project that has a good craftsmanship to it should never be unwelcome.

EDIT: What the shit, it put the proper symbol when I copypasted it. His username is showing up as & # 9 1 6 ; minus the spaces.

The name shows up as & # 9 1 6 ; but when it's typed in a post, it shows up as the delta symbol.
