Pretty sure it's in the Radio Interview on Troy's OOG channel, troyhasacamera. Also may be in the DVD commentary... I don't remember if they talked about it or not. Most of their commentary is completely irrelevant and pointless (and hilarious).

The DVD commentary said that they almost got arrested because the places they filmed, like the abandoned mental institution (which I believe the basement was) is still private property, even if no one is occupying it.

TTA watches Marble Hornets. Sees the entry where Jay asks about the red tower. Leaves the piece of paper with the red tower writing as a clue in the house. Puts the tape there for Jay to pick up.
