[EMAIL] New E-Mail from Melissa today (10/17)

I received a new email from Melissa today. She had already replied to this email Tuesday with the following reply:

Quote:
That is a most impressive piece of visual evidence, Major Hellion Youngblood. I will have important work for you in the future.

But today, this is what I got:

Quote:
You are commended for your resourcefulness in gathering this data for me. I will attempt to construct a communication channel to the axon you have submitted. If I am successful, you will see the coordinates [coordinates_removed] listed on the next confirmed broadcast schedule. However, I am concerned that other crew members may find themselves in harm's way if they attempt to rendezvous at the wrong location. I am
ordering you to submit physical address data on the axon so that I can verify the GPS coordinate you have submitted. Do not disappoint me.

I'm guessing she simply wants the address? So I replied with the address of the coordinates hope I was right..anyone else get an email like this today?

(moving this to the Interactions section, and putting a date in the thread title -- cw)

Mebbe she wants a picture of the axon you are trying to get added?

I got a similar e-mail earlier today:

Solider,
You are commended for your resourcefulness in gathering this data for me.
I will attempt to construct a communication channel to the axon you
have submitted.
If I am successful, you will see the GPS coordinates 43.129404 -077.695879
listed on the next confirmed broadcast schedule.
Excellent work, Lt.

Operator,
I have been one of the crew members stranded without an axon. I managed
to find a suitable incoming location - I have verified that this
location accepts incoming calls and should be available to answer with
the next round of axons. The street address is included, the
coordinates are 43.129404, -077.695879. I look forward to serving as
one of your crew members in the future.

The street address was in the image I took of the phone number, so that must be what she's looking for. I do wonder what "attempting to construct a communication channel" means... wondering if it's just a phrase she's using or if somebody's actually trying to confirm that it accepts calls.

At any rate, looking forward to Tuesday and seeing if my axon is included! Very Happy

The complete address of the axon location is:

Main Lobby, Earth & Marine Sciences Building
University of California, Santa Cruz
1156 High Street
Santa Cruz, CA 95064

(the from line of the message was Dana Awbrey, but I thought it'd be more appropriate give credit were credit was due Smile)

Apparently, my submission wasn't good enough.

New axons pose a major security risk.
I can accept public axon data only when clear visual evidence of the
original listing of the phone access number is presented.
Personally typed evidence does not suffice.
You may resubmit with corroborating evidence.
Good luck, soldier.

I had attached a photo of the phone with the phone number too. I think maybe she rejected it becuase I didn't have the physical address. I instead gave her the GPS coordinates for that area around that phone.

Astrovanman,

I think she thinks that the number of the phone you submitted was typed by you, not a photo. Take a close-up picture of the phone with the number visible and send that to her.

I got an email today as well. It was almost exactly like those above. I sent the address, and as a response, I got this:

Quote:

Lt. Kirsten,
Thank you for the corroborating data.
Axon approved, prepare to receive future broadcasts.

Very Happy Looks like I'll have a phone to answer sometime between 13:32 and 13:57 on Tuesday.

Thank you, soldier.

Nice work, meta.

I also think the problem with astrovanman's submission was simply that it wasn't completely clear that the number was actually on the phone.

I sent in a shot of the number(the picture included the keypad and some writing on the phone...no mistaking what was being looked at), the GPS coords and the street adress, and got this yesterday:

Excellent work,

Hopefully the time won't be one of the very few that would be impossible for me to take off!
