Code of codes

So here is my (partial) solution to code of codes. I have been operating under the assumption that it would be much more clever if the authors clued us to locations that weren't near the treasure, but rather those locations together point us to the treasure. This would prevent somebody from solving the last clue, running to that spot, and claiming the treasure while doing virtually no work.

So, How can the trace of the of each location lead us to another location? Well, the trace has to draw something. I also believe that something must relate to a "Crow's Nest" in some way (should have been listening to Mulligan, and that is all he talks about). At first I thought we could be drawing the Maddie Hayes. However, there is this clue:
"Bear's Brown Cola - It's Tops" => "Crows Nest Is Port Balboa"

How can the Crow's Nest be in Balboa Port? Port Balboa is in the Panama Canal, which is nowhere near NYC. However, the Panama Canal is a gateway to.... The Caribbean. Pirates in the Caribbean, no way! So, a logical way to create the treasure maps is:
1. trace the path of the puppets across NYC
2. align that path with the islands of The Caribbean
3. mark Port Balboa (the Crow's Nest)
4. transfer the mark to map of NYC to get gold location

I did this back in December with partial paths through episode 5. It seemed to work. However, I had hoped to find additional clues in the last 3 episodes that would confirm some of this. I don't think I've found a single solid clue in those three episodes, and I don't think anyone else has either (from what I've read here). Anyway, here are my maps. I did refine some of these paths, but I haven't updated the diagrams since Dec.

Maps of paths, in yellow, thru ep 5 (some paths are missing, I got tired of drawing these after a while):

Port Balboa:

Overlapping paths:

The treasure's location:

This basically puts the treasure on Rockaway Beach somewhere. Although, even if this is the correct way to find the treasure, there is a certain amount of error built into that location. Some parts of these paths I later refined, and there are a few decent ways to align them. Rockaway Beach, Breezy Point, Marine Park, Floyd Bennett Field, Jamaica Bay Refuge, etc. are probably all candidates. I was hoping ep 6,7,8 would improve the accuracy. I wish I would have spent more time on Rockaway Beach rather than working on this Smile.

Now that I look at this again, I realize that I didn't have any of the ep 5 paths in there (except for Black Tom). Lazy!

The fact that I am posting this does sort of mean that I have given up. I had held out hope that the authors would give us some additional clues, but that doesn't seem likely anymore. I can't blame them, it seems that this series was never very popular. The first video has about 20k hits on youtube and one of their gloveandboots videos has almost 500k. It's also hard to imagine that many people are even paying attention to this anymore. It's a shame because it was an awesome series.

If you don't mind me asking, would you be willing to share how you came up with all of the paths for the yellow line? Eps 1/2 are obvious... I think there are a million different ideas for the rest so I was just curious as to your take on it.

And what's your theory for SILL --> SELE ?

I have an episode 5 thread in this forum that talks about Black Tom's path at the end of 3 thru ep5.

I have no solution for SILL -> SELE. If it is a clue, then it is in reference to something in Central Park. We've definitely gotten past that part, so I don't see any reason to worry about it.
