2 days and not even a tweet about the search for the tape? Sometimes it's really difficult to suspend my disbelief and think of the whole series as happening in real time.

if I didn't know better I'd say that Tim has already found him.

If that happened and was the end of the season I'd be absurdly pissed off.

This is a long shot, but maybe the thing they ordered was a wig for Alex. Perhaps the tape Jay stole is the original, uncut version of the tape Entry #26 was on? In it, we get to see Alex explore that abandoned building, and maybe additional footage to the Slendy encounter with Amy, where we learn something shocking (like Alex ends up killing Amy, etc.) Alex had longer hair back then, and they obviously can't wait for it to grow back.

If Alex killed Amy, I'd be fucking pissed off at EVERYTHING.

Jay should post a pic on twitter of all the tapes saying "I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT IS." and just have us find it for him.

JAY'S AN IDIOT.

Best trick would be to say he doesn't have the tape, then in a week it mysteriously shows up in a package from TTA or something.

I hate to say this, but the only explanation I have to the tape not being posted is J forgetting his password to twitter and YouTube.

Do they normally post over the weekend?

Maybe that's when J does his unspecified job IG.

Honestly, I got so used to the T-W-R update day that any other time generally feels foreign to me. You could probably go back through the wiki and map each release date to a day of the week, but depends on how much time you have / how much you care, haha. Razz

My best suggestion if any of you are feeling your immersion being broken by the wait - stay off the forums for a couple days. I know we're all pretty equally obsessed with the series (or else why would we spend time on a web forum dissecting every detail of each episode? Wink ) but I honestly find that finding other things to occupy my mind and time helps.

I watched all of Season 1 in the course of an afternoon about two or three weeks before S2 started, so I understand the frustration of wanting an entry sooner to keep the immersion going strong, but since us getting all butthurt and irritated about it won't change the fact that Troy is gonna release the entry whenever he wants (or when he actually can, considering the guy is working and in school), it's probably better to take a day or two off and do something non-MH-related.

My day today, for instance, is crammed full of homework and a video editing assignment. Apart from checking the Twitter again this afternoon to see if there's an update (which I get on my phone anyway) I probably won't be on the forums. And when the entry inevitably comes out this week, I'll just be excited for it.

(And, as an aside, keep in mind that 'Jay is lazy' and 'Jay is kidnapped' aren't the only two possibilities for why there's no entry right now. Just one idea, for instance - Jay doesn't tend to love using Twitter for every detail, and even though I'm sure he sees the tape as important, he may be a bit jaded anymore. If he didn't find it, he may not think it's important to post about it. He might have found something else entirely and is examining it now. Dude has to sleep, eat, and (I assume) pack up and move regularly, so if the tape label was removed or something he may be looking through hours and hours of footage still, and you have to break that up throughout the day. It gets hella boring. O__O Trust me.

And Edit: I just thought of this too, we know from TTA's hints that Jay isn't the most reliable narrator. Maybe Jay is up to something else that he isn't telling us...)

My prediction for Entry 51:

Just before it's release Jay tweets something along these lines:

I've watched the 56-42 tape over and over and I still don't get why it's so important. Going to upload it so you can see it for yourselves.

To us - and to Jay - the tape looks like nothing more than footage of Amy all happy and smiling, occasionally with bits where Amy and Alex are happy and smiling together. Fun times, with no signs of Operators or Maskies or anything anywhere.

The true import of this is revealed in Entry 52, at the start of which Alex is like "So, did you watch the tape?" (having guessed, when Jay turns up late to Rosswood, that he'd spent the intervening time breaking into Alex's apartment and then watching the tape using his camera's playback features). When Jay confirms this, Alex demands the tape back; not believing there's any significant evidence on it, Jay complies. (He regains the tapes a bit later, at the same time that he acquires Alex's chestcam and footage.)

Jay says that he understands why Alex was being protective of the footage and is about to half-heartedly apologise for being an ass about it before Alex interrupts Jay and explains what the tape represents - the sole remaining evidence that Amy was left alive, provided to him by the Operator as a reward for his service.

The freakiest twist? When Alex watches the tape, he can actually talk to Amy and she'll talk back to him.
