Slender Man Short Story Published in a Magazine

Here is a link to the piece, which was also published in Teen Ink's print magazine.

The piece, which I originally titled "Sleep Away Camp" (it was retitled to "The Trees" for print publication) is part of an anthology I've been working on that tells a non-linear Slender Man-based narrative. At no point will he ever be referred to as Slender Man, instead by an expansive collection of different monikers based on the material.

The anthology will be made up of Slender Man vignettes presented in a variety of forms (poetry, transcripts of news reports, newspaper articles, interviews, government files, first hand reports, etc.) collected and presented by the narrator, James Alexander, who will provide an introduction, commentary, and analysis to each piece. It's not a series, nor an ARG, just a large body of fiction. I'll be sure to post the completed anthology here.

So you basically wrote a narrative involving SL and put it in the same style as Bram Stroker's "Dracula"? We could be friends you know?

I was a little nervous, given the very cooperative nature of the creation of the mythos to contribute in an "official" avenue like this, but I think it worked out nicely.

You know, I didn't even think about it like that, but you're right! Yes, we should definitely be friends!
