@jono, I agree. When I asked for something as a child my parents always asked me what the magic word was, and the answer was always please, so that's what I thought of when i saw "what's the magic word?"

Has anyone had a close look at the symbols in the description of the idol hands clip (ƒ©©¬©¨†¶§†ˆ¶§¥†ƒ®∂¨§¶ etc). It reminds me of the font wingdings in microsoft office, but I had a look in office and it doesn't match that or any other font (marlett etc). So maybe it is a substitution code?

Hey, can you guys please post the pics from twitter? I don't use it, and I can't see the pics without logging in.

Yeah, I've been trying. They're symbols though, not a font. The dialogue box gives the options for unicode and ASCII, as well as a character code and a shortcut. Maybe it's something to do with that? (lol, it's worth a look?)

I've been looking at ASCII and unicode character sets as suggested by Alt-demon. Most of the symbols are in the standard sets, but the uppercase and lowercase deltas and the other greek letters need the extended greek set. The symbol ∫ is in the latin extended sets but apparently it might also look like ſ

My thoughts were that if we found the symbol set they all came from maybe we could order them by their hex or html number and then assign them the letters a to z to break the code.

Or maybe I'm looking at it completely wrong. Either way, it's nearly midnight and I'm going to bed.

I've gone ahead and done so. I converted the unicode to decimal, then assigned those numbers letters. The outcome is here:

ABBCBDEFGEHFGIEAJKDGF
JEILMNHDOAEPNLQRCMQRBIGS
FSTGFUOVUWDHLCBQPNAMQNXLR
BQPEDJIEQDIBCLDDHBIDIPE
DGHFFIUFGJTGDKJQNLRBLPQ
DCH...DLYBDQPAJIEAQDCBIHL
DFOGDT'IJZKNPABRAPIDHB
JFGHAAIPBRQNLQLHHLCQLHDIA

The punctuation would have been characters 27 and 28 of the alphabet, so I just left them as is - figuring they may actually be punctuation.

This may be all wrong.

MyDadsTapes uploaded the following images that were on the flash card found in the lockbox.

From what I can tell in order to decode any steganography we will need a password. I know nothing about the subject, though.

Those images seem to be too small to be stegged... file sizes are all around or under 20k.

How else would you assign letters to random numbers?

I was thinking of ordering them by their ASCII/unicode shortcut and then assigning them the letters

for example
© = 169
ˆ = 136
So ˆ would be given an earlier letter from the alphabet.

I'm having trouble finding the shortcuts for all the symbols though (especially the square root and delta symbols)

Just use a unicode decoder.

Wow..

Okay so capitals we have: (S)LSTE DO NOT CONTINUE UNTIL

And Misspells: dunt (don't) dunt (don't) lik (like) wurld (World) dunT (don't) listn (Listen)

Either he is typing with an accent (I know people who say Dunt for Don't) or these are just to make the rhymes work

"Kill list its not/ is followers we taught" This makes it sound like those marks in the book are people who help them (so many killers?) or does he mean followers of the devil they taught (and by taught I mean in the beat up/kill kind of way)

"Be a good boy and be just like dad" Maybe the dad wasn't key in this, maybe he was just someone caught up in the outskirts of something much bigger

edit: Typed I when I meant L

I'm pretty sure the I in hIm is an uppercase I and not a uppercase L.
