Here's his profile. If it doesn't work for some reason, just search Vladimir Sirin on Facebook. His profile image is a black square with an I in the bottom left corner.

Sirin

I'm excited to start a new game then! When I add Vladimir as a friend, will I need to leave a message stating I'm in the game or will he just accept it?

Also,

Likely he won't respond tho you can always say hello, new friend. Was tagged in the FB pic so left a wall comment. Am consumed by NH so may not do too much.

Holly, I think he'll probably accept your friend request regardless of what you say to him. Unfortunately, since it seems like his Facebook is acting more as a computer interface than an actual person, I doubt we'll get much out of him unless we issue commands. The question now is, what commands do we issue?

Ha! Yeah, that was interesting. I got that email from Vladimir and saw all the ones and zeros and I was kind of drunk so I was seeing it in double. When it didn't translate with binary, I was like "aw, to hell with it. This isn't happening tonight". I learned a lesson: I can't drink, at least not heavily, when trying to solve ciphers!

ironnikki, thanks for the link. I shot him a friend request.

Sent him a message over face book. We'll see if me,a newbie with no background from the other games, can follow this one... then again, my phone hates facebook, so I hope I don't need it to participate...

No problem, aquarius. I learned a similar lesson involving drinking and online team games... let's just say there's a small group of people who refuse to play online games with me anymore, haha.

Zobot, the PM put up a message on Vlad's profile saying that no knowledge from the previous games was necessary, and that any characters that pop up from previous games will have no knowledge of past events. It'll be a clean slate, so you're good to go! Previous games have made heavy use of Facebook and Twitter. If you phone doesn't play nice with Facebook, maybe you can get it to make friends with Twitter?

What? never heard of the Ballmer Peak? Very Happy

Okay, so I posted a pair of UNIX commands on Vlad's facebook. Let's see what happens...

Eh, the facebook thing is less that it doesn't WORK and more that its a pain to work WITH. Still, I will persevere, for the sake of fun.

New email from Vladimir with the subject I:

Quote:
Welcome to Intueor

--
3 = 1-9 = 15
.-
4 = 1-16 = 34
--.
5 = ............................................
..
6 = *
-.-.

So it begins.

Edit: I did this on my phone and it didn't come out right. Now that I'm on my computer I corrected it.

Morris code that spells magic

(I'm not sure if I needed the screen but it has been awhile since I've played)

Also they have magic numbers in programming too. I've read about them but I can't explain them. Embarassed

I'm about to go back to school so I won't have much time to play this but I think these are magic squares. (I think that has been suggested) Here's the pattern I've seen in the email.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

3 = 1-9 = 15

That is:
3x3 grid using the numbers 1-9 where each horizontal and vertical line adds up to 15.

Therefore the first square would look like:

4 3 8
9 5 1
2 7 6

4 = 1-16 = 34

That is:
4x4 gris using the numbers 1-16 where each horizontal and vertical line adds up to 34.

Now these equations so far take the format of: n=1-(nxn)=M

Where n is the number of columns, and M is the magic number which can be calculated by the Magic formula. This formula can be found on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_Square

In short asuming that Vlad's asterisk indicates importance that last part will look like:
6 = 1-36 = 111 this answer of 111 seems to follow Vlad's pattern (I played part VA) so I'm gonna send 111 to his email and see what he says.

WOW that dragged on a bit.

EDIT: Got the auto reply back as mentioned above and well... If you want to figure it out yourself don't look coz I pretty much solved the puzzle.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Substituted 111 where all the stars were, translated that and got a URL it led me to:

http://www.timeanddate.com/counters/customcounter.html?msg=Project+Circadian+I&day=11&month=11&year=2011&hour=11&min=11&sec=11&p0=0

It appears to be a countdown to Friday, 11 November 2011 at 11:11:11 AM (UTC time)

EDIT Again:

Sorry guys one last thing I sent him a message on FB but I encoded it in binary. It might give some stuff away so don't decode it if you want to figure things out yourself.

Nice work, chimpo! On a separate note, what happened to your other handle? I remember playing VA with you, but you didn't go by chimpo42 then.

On a separate note, I'm accessing Vlad's interactive help function. I've asked him what Intueor is, though I expect that it's just the name of the system that he's running on. We'll see what happens.

ETA: I logged onto FB this morning to check and see if Vlad had responded to the posts I left, and he opened a chat with me. Here's the transcript of the chat, for anyone interested. To prevent this post from devouring the entire page, I've cut out all but the end of chat. Everything else was me providing an email address and asking about Project Circadian I. If someone is really interested in the entire chat transcript, I can send it to you.

Guess he doesn't take too well to being asked about Intueor. He also sent me an email with the details of Project Circadian I:

A Word document was attached to the email. uF won't let me attach it to this post, so I changed it into a PDF. If someone wants me to send them the original .docx I got, PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.

Alright, I really need to get my ass in gear on this. I left my computer on last night, logged into Facebook and I got a chat from Vlad this morning with

Quote:
Vladimir Sirin: Awaiting command... 7:12 AM

Vladimir Sirin: AUTOMATIC LIVE SENSORY INPUT DETECTED - Do you wish to continue? 8:35 AM

Now, I'm a father of 4 and I am up at 6 every weekday. 7:12 AM doesn't exist to me on a Saturday. Saturday is my designated sleep in day. Any time prior to 10:30 AM on a Saturday is a myth. If I wake up briefly to turn over or change position it must be a dream because that time doesn't exist. Either way, I replied when I DID wake up at 11 AM. Hopefully he'll get it later and we can actually have a chat. That's pretty cool though because of the interaction. I see what you mean now, ironnikki.

Crazy good job on solving that cipher chimpo. Friggin' astounding! I really have to get my rear in gear because this looks to be GOOD!
