My preferred explanation for Alex keeping this one tape and nothing else from his mountain of tapes is that it shows the last anyone ever saw of Brian. A sentimental thing.

The theory that Alex cherry-picked the tapes he gave Jay is not convincing at all if you just read the introduction entry. IMO it stretches belief too far that he would plot something so tenuous.

Also, the comic relief of those boring art student shots of Brian standing still and nothing happening. <3

Also, I agree this building is intended to portray the aboveground part of the Basement.

Ended up getting really busy and wasn't able to watch the entry as soon as it came out. This entry was so great, I'm way too impatient to read through nearly twenty pages (I read the first five, may read the rest after typing this).

Observation/Speculation/Random shit:

So, attempting to put what happened in this entry together now. Alex apparently may have been "working" for The Operator for much longer than what we have been lead to believe throughout the series. It seems that he lead Brian to the burnt down building, not to shoot Marble Hornets (notice how Brian, at first, had no idea how going to this building would relate to their film in any way? I think that's essential. It's because it didn't.) He brought Brian to the building in order to hand him to the Operator. Why? Dunno. However it seems he did the same to Tim beforehand. Considering this, that concludes that Brian is most likely the other TTA member, and also proves why ToTheArk has been so aggressive towards Alex. 1.) To get revenge on him. And 2.) To protect Jay.

Also, considering Jay/Troy felt the need to put questions in the viewers mind about whether he did the same to the rest of the cast—I think he may have done this to everyone else. Including Jay, somehow. But for whatever reason, Jay doesn't remember it while Tim and Brian (and potentially others) do.

So in short. Alex takes cast-member to building. Operator starts showing up, together they attack said-cast member. Alex drags them into a room while they're knocked out and leaves.

Alex was clearly lying about "not remembering what happened" to them, in that one entry way back. In #51, when Alex picks up the camera, he showed absolutely zero care for what had just happened to Brian. That said, him not remembering was merely his cover story. Thus what leads us to the "Unreliable Narrator" thing way back when. Make sense?

Also, it seems like Alex is now trying to do the exact same thing to Jay and Jessica. Hence, "Bring Jessica with you next time." Someone should probably warn Jay; oh wait, it already happened...

One thing I don't understand is that why is TTA so hostile and cryptic then? If they want to protect Jay from Alex, why were they so aggressive in the beginning of the series as to go as far as literally attack him? And we have seen TTA hanging around The Operator with no conflict in that one TTA-entry. I'm inclined to believe that when someone is being offered to the Operator, they become his proxy. And that's what Tim and Brian were early on in the series. However, somehow, they broke free later on. That still doesn't really explain why they always wear masks and are so fucking cryptic and psychotic....but I'm trying to connect some dots here. Sue me.

YES. Alex Kralie's Marble Hornets would've been an awful film. Laughing

I lol'd when it cut to a shot of Brian just standing there facing the wall, not moving. And then he touches it twice. Genius.

Initial Reaction: ;EJLAIJ FIAEFJ; IJIFAEFJ EJ ;FAEL ; BRIAN IS HERE

Also if Brian is Hoody I am going to feel so validated. I really hope he's still alive. Also, if we ever see him alive and without a hood again, he should walk into a room with some snacks.

Around 2:00, the sun and the diagonal rays of glare make a crossed-out circle.

I ran the mp4 through Spek since the white noise at 5:16-5:23 seemed suspicious. Nothing of note turned up, though.

Edit: "Spec" -> "Spek"

Everyone seems to still be asking about the mask and why Tim and Hoody still wear one. I stand firm with the people that say that Slendy must recognize your face to take full effect. Let's name some facts. Tim is victim to Slendy in this entry. Alex almost definitely is working with/for Slendy. Tim and Alex want to kill each other. These lead us to believe that Masky is working against Slendy. Lets go back to Entry 19. Masky is shown going into Jay's room, followed by Jay disappearing. Totheark has video of Jay's missing time where Jay has "Masky" paint on is face and Slendy walks right by him, completely ignoring his existence. Since Masky is working against Slendy than that means he was helping Jay. I believe Tim put the paint on Jay to protect him (at least partially) and showed Jay the video to basically say "Hey idiot, put on a mask" Why Tim is so cryptic and scary is beyond me.

I got Blair Witch vibes from that shot. Horror, ok. Coming of age drama, so pretentious.

Anybody else get the feeling Alex knew exactly where The Operator would approach from? The way Brian turns to check his back, I'll bet Alex kept glancing thataway and it made Brian nervous. It's a fair bet that Alex knew where he'd be teleported, if that actually happened.

Could this be any relation to Alex being covered in blood in entry 14?

This theory. I love.

Wish someone could explain why their so cryptic and psychotic, though.

Concerning the HD thing: perhaps jay didn't have the computing power back then, and now does? we don't know if the tapes were in HD or not. Perhaps they were and season 1 jay couldn't render video in 720p. now stfu about discontinuity and quick nit-picking.

Or maybe it's a hint that the tapes from season 1 were not the all-original raw footage, but had been processed and fucked about with by Alex, and this is the only untampered raw footage we've seen from the original shoot?
