[FRINGE] Episode 5 - Power Hungry

I didn't catch the number, but the "Unlock Your Potential" flyer was in Joe's locker and with a better view of the phone number. Anyone catch it?

on locker

Cool

I think it is a fake number. It had 555 in it.

Yeah, it may be a red herring. It is the same poster from episode 4 and it made an appearance twice tonight. I'd like to see a screencap of the closeup at the end of the episode. I requested one from fringetelevision.com

Edit: The screen cap of the ads are up at fringetelevision.com. It looks like it was nothing more than foreshadowing again. The number of course was not a working number.

Oh, I found something about a number:
(from "Wag the dog"-Imdb article)

Quote:
The political talk show at the end of the film lists its phone number as 1-(800)-555-0199. This number is also Lester Burnham's office number in the film American Beauty (1999) as well as Lowell Bergman's fax number in the film The Insider (1999)

The talk show phone number, (800) 555-0199, is common to many films and television shows because this is the only number that has been reserved by the phone company as an allowable "fake" 800 number for media usage.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120885/trivia

So it seems to be really a red herring.

It's common for TV shows and movies to use 555...it's not a real exchange number.

Also on Walter's notes there is a diagram of Nicholas Tesla's wireless coil. It basically allows electiricity to flow freely. Anything within it's range it will become a receiver.

I'll have to watch this episode again but I don't remember seeing any foreshadowing clues in this week's episode.

there were a couple of potential foreshadowing elements... see
http://fringe.wikibruce.com/Crossovers#Episode_5

* the most blatant would be another "INtREPUS" appearance (coffee mug)
* potential more info on the flyer
* -maybe- content on John's bulletin board

didn't see any flyers on poles this episode though Razz
