[VIDEO] Entry #5
Looked for an Entry 5 thread, couldn't find one.

Entry 5 has insane audio distortion. According to the wiki, nobody's managed to clean it up at all - has anyone managed to in the meantime? Did anyone run it through a spectrograph to see if there's anything in there?

I've been thinking about it recently because Entry 51 strongly implies that Alex had sinister motivations/was being Slendy-puppeteered for at least part of the filming of MH, and I'm wondering whether that particular video hides more evidence of that. After all, the video shows them scouting out the area where (IIRC) Entry 12 takes place - might Alex have been using it as a way to expose the entire cast and crew to the Operator so He could get a "taste" of them before picking them off one by one?

EDIT: Incidentally, I've been watching the season 1 entries depicting the actual shoots, location scouting and so forth, and - Operator appearances aside - they're really funny. Alex is like the Ed Wood of student art films.

ModEdit (Zarggg): The original Entry #5 discussion is in the old trailhead thread, beginning with this post, which has since been locked. Therefore, I have changed the name of this thread to follow our current standard nomenclature for Entry discussion threads.

Weren't Troy and Joseph making stuff up as they went along early in Season 1? Surely they weren't planning that far ahead while scripting Entry #5.

They didn't post all of Entry #5 without distortion, only the first half at the gazebo. The other part near the tower they didn't have, and let me tell you now, it was nothing remotely interesting. It was entirely "I'm Alex Kralie, Brian, Sarah, pretentious student film, herp derp." Never did Alex say "Oh ya I'm working for a tall guy with no face, he seems like a nice dude, kills children on weekends." It was NOT plot important. As for them talking about the red tower, no idea, maybe that's super duper important, decode all you want.

I wondered the same thing about the distortion in Entry #5, so I ran it through Spek a while back. Here's the spectrograph.

Nothing out of the ordinary, unfortunately.

In reference to the humor of the student film entries: Alex overuses the word "reflective" and its derivatives so much. OOG:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The first half of Entry #51 is a pretty hilarious call back to this, and it's part of the reason I find that entry so well done.

Does anyone else really want to see the actual student film Marble Hornets? Everything we see is hilariously bad. Even in the most recent entry, before shit got real I was laughing my ass off, especially with Brian asking when he's standing at the wall what the point of the scene was.

Yeah but when scripting season 2 they went back to nail down exactly what was happening so they could work towards a conclusion. So even if they didn't plan it then, they may still intend it now.
