[ot] Music and Marble Hornets
Stuff I do when I'm bored.

I was driving home the other day from work, which I hate, and listening to nomeansno's WRONG! album. It's a pretty kick ass album and anyone who likes punk or progressive/technical rock should check it out. Anyways, the song The Tower comes on and as I'm jamming out in my car I realize how it always makes me think of the red tower from Marble Hornets.

Then I was thinking about other bands that make me think of MH:

  • Portal -- their entire discography sounds like they recorded with The Operator, e.g. Larvae from Swarth
  • Kekal -- some of their songs have very sudden and violent distortion, e.g. Shuffling Biorhythms from Audible Minority

Does anyone have anything to add to this list?

You'll find some answers there. Wink

In all honesty, there aren't any songs that remind me of MH. There is a Apoptygma Berzerk track that kind of suits it though... just trying to think of the title...

Ah! It's "Untitled 3" from the Welcome to Earth album. It's not really music though, just sounds and speech (and some Blair Witch samples).

I started working on something on-and-off a while ago, and recently had a couple ideas that made it a bit more do-able...

Some of the ideas that make it stand out just make it difficult to listen to rather than unnerving or uncomfortable... It wasn't really meant as anything like "OMG J YOU HAVE TO USE THIS IN ENTRY #52", just had a few thoughts that were in part inspired by this series. Thoughts appreciated.
