It doesn't matter if the augmentation didn't kill her. When smart AI's are made, the brain that created them is destroyed. Yasmine can't be alive if Durga was made from her.


All I can say is EXACTLY!!!! and it can be duplicated into multiple AI constructs via vi the possibility of Durga and Melissa not being one and the same but the same base construct

This isn't entirely true. Dr. Halsey's brain was flash cloned for the creation of an A.I. called Cortana, and both lived (and actually worked) together.

While it is true that the subject's life is usually sacrificed for the A.I. creation, the exception of Cortana's creation via flash cloning means that we can't know for certain whether or not Yasmine is dead. Not yet, anyway.

I agree - read closely - Cortana was made from the cloned brain - the brain was still destroyed. In flash cloning they are exact images in all way for very limited periods of time - so this brain clone would be a viable surce for Cortana's AI construct

so i've just read through all the posts for this line and although I admit to not hearing the actual clips, i think i have a good idea of what's going on.

a while back someone speculated something about Kamal hacking the artifact for Earth, I can see that as a possibility, but what if Durga's going to hack the artifact and that will help her to stop the hypothesized rampancy? Perhaps Durga and Kamal will be working together to crack the artifact.

And... about Kamal being arrested, Durga's gonna fix that, np. If she can get a tax auditors life ruined in an instant, she can definitely get her borther out of jail monopoly style.

AND... while I did suspect some sort of counter strike on the part of the Jan James collective, I was kinda expecting and hoping (still) for there to be a 1.1 army somewhere along the line.

 		Durga: (little girl voice) Like half memories of this... big stone building with a lot of rooms and (gradually becoming more normal voice) I run around and hide and send messages to people.


This seems to suggest that the girl we're talking about is *our* sleeping princess, and not some Durga-version. Unless Durga's sleeping princess is sending messages behind her back. In any case, I'm still voting for the split across time SPEC. It seems that the battle for who will be the dominant aspect of the merged AI is ramping up, with th eactivities of the various AIs really starting collide with each other.

This is also incorrect. Dr Halsey had 15 Clones of her brain slow grown so that they would be better copies and thus better for a smart AI. The reason for 15 is that most slow grown clones dont survive the cloning process, much less only a brain. Thanks for your support though.

hehe yeah sorry... I've slowed down taking too much time during work hours to keep it updated as they come in. I've already been given heat for not getting work done. So I usually take a short time during lunch or whatnot to update some stuff, but the bulk of transcriptions - look for them near to end of work day (around 5-6pm EDT and on)... but as they come in, new axons are listed in the new unposted clips page... enhottened clips stay there a short time before being moved to their respective threads, but that's where I stick up the placeholder entries for new clips.

The good Dr. also had the money to do this. I doubt that the government takes the time to care about the life of some Spartan II progam reject enough to clone her over and over and over to get a brain and save the original.

Chances are also high that, if Yasmine failed her Spartan training and was thus used to make an AI, she failed it because she died. Swoop in the brain ninjas to make an AI out of her noggin.

 		the artifact...
so I was thinking about the artifact again and {WILD SPEC} the artifacts are made by the forerunners right? what else was made by the forerunners? (1) Halo and (2) the flood. What if Earth is just the next experiment by the forerunners? What if the "timer" artifact is a time release for a flood-like contamination? What if Earth is Halo 2? Rather than a ring they decided to try a globe shape. I may be way off, but I think it is a possibility.
