Captain 12 Fingers' Path
Marching to My Own Drum

As you all kinow I am marching to a beat of a different drummer then any one on here. After taking pictures way back in April of the neighborhood that I believe the treasure is in, I finally started working on this puzzle after Labor Day. Taking this long break has given my brain the vacation it needed to find a clear path. Here is what I discovered. (And this will be all I am sharing):
* Captain & Crothers are on the same path.
* Mulligan is marching to his own drummer.
* You really do need to do those switching of letters.
* Episode 4 is extremely important and has several parts.
* I know what the crows nest is.
* I know what the ship is.
* I know what the potato reference is.
*

Anyway I think the puppet masters did an incredible job doing this puzzle. Their way with coding is amazing. Once you know what to look for it comes to you. All I will say is that even in this neighborhood what you have orginally thought was some sort of land mark is NOT, unless you follow the path in order of the clues given. Which is what I was not doing earlier. I am working on this slowly because I have a lot of people who need me right now. I still have quite more to do.
Captain 12 Fingers.

Hi there Captain!

I hear you on switching the letters...I know there's something there because it happens a lot throughout. In the Larry King, 'Spectacles', Satan/Santa, Stole/Steal (Stelle). And Mulligan is CERTAINLY marching to his own beat, that much has been made clear by the 8th video.

As for the rest, and I'm not basing this comment on anything prior to this post of yours here, and I'm not trying to be mean or anything but...really? No offense to you cap, I don't know you but...this is all following a pattern I've noticed in my quietude and reading on this forum: someone shows up, says they know something everyone else doesn't, and then disappears again or only reveals part, or can't make it all fit jigsaw-piece snug. And please, don't take this as an attack or anything - I'm just pointing out a trend amongst many users here.

But I appreciate your observations none the less - let that also be said!

You are right about that. Hey I thought it was in both McCarren and Flushing. Not for nothing but, so did others I was working with at the time.
What I did really differently this time was to actually listen to what the charactes said in each video IN ORDER. Last time I did not follow and any path in order. That I found is extremely important. Even in this area you can take sentences that are spoken by the characters and apply them to diffenent land marks. However when you go in order you find that the land marks that you thought matched the sentences did not. I have found almost every sentenance that Crothers and Captain speak. Then I did Mulligans separate. I really needed that long break. Believe me I'm still not sure about that birdie because there are quite a few in this area. Every time I think it is one it seems to be the other. I just have a feeling those are going to be off the wall.
The reason why so many false paths are being found is because you can take some of the clues and match them up. Just look at how many people have done.

Captain, my point, and I think you missed it - I don't think anyone on the boards here appreciates their paths being called false, or your unwillingness to play ball. From what I've read of you, you tend to stay very cryptic - and granted, that's probably from not wanting to give away what you think's the right path, but you're also closing yourself off to the fact that others -might actually be able to help!-

Just food for thought. And, I think it's also been covered elsewhere that there's definitely an order, and the things they say are indeed very important - I think CCL may've pointed out the fact the lines in The Larry King match up to areas along individual subway paths.

I just think, and take this as you will - it's your path, you do with it what you want - but I think you should really consider actually explaining yourself a bit more...simply because it's hard to take someone who says they've "figured it out!" when they're this cryptic. It defeats the purpose of posting on the board other than to encite others, y'know?

*Meekly Cheers* Go go cooperation! *Goes back into his quiet hole*

 My Path

Here is my path:
I was able to link every spoken word that Captain, Crothers, Mulligan & Tom SPEAK in the episodes to the following path and that 1 path be the one in Central Park the jogger's Loop that is shaped like a deformed foot.

Example:
* This secret type meeting be come to order, and we ain't be wasting time, drinking, gambling or shooting each other for fun. = Robert Burns, Sir Walter Scott, Fitz Greene Halleck, Shakespeare.
* Mind your tongue Mulligan, we can't talk too plainly. We have to out think them spies. To be safe I think that we should talk in code. Riddles we four'll understand. = Burns, Scott, Halleck, Shakespeare.
* Thinking way back in me thinky thoughts. = Guiseppe Manzini.
* Stop spewing that blasted Morris code. = Richard Morris Hunt. (love this stele).

I am only giving you a few examples. You will have to do research on all the steles and landmarks because without that you will not get the spoken word. This required a lot of research and several visits to the park with camera in hand because not everything is on line and you can not find all the pictures either via the internet.
There are several flying birdies and other things that could be considered birdies. There really is a midgety one that is cute. Laughing
I have a gut feeling that we are suppose to follow one of these birdies outside the park to another spot somewhere within one of the other boroughs, but who knows becasue there are 2 areas in the park that I did not check for the chest. Please DO NOT dig anywhere that is not leagal in the parks. YOU WILL BE ARRESTED! The chest is either in a diggable legal spot or just below NY. (and after you figure out the coding via this path you will know that under NY could mean something different then what you already know). You could have fun driving the 'Sweet stuffed animal type friends' crazy with questions. I should be on their team with them at this point because I seem to know a lot about the park. Heck I was explaining the steles to them this past weekend.

Just so you know Clue # 28 (from Episodes #4), is one that is given in the first episode and if you go there you have gone to far. As for #41, 42 & 43 they are given somewhere in Eps #2 or 3. I'll let you figure that out.

There is more then one ELE.

You really do need to switch those P & Cs & J & Bs.

Why am I telling you this because I am tired!

Yes, you just have to match every sentence to a land mark along this path not just a few per episode because they all matter to find that birdie, ship & crows nest. And yes, every sentence does match up to something in the park. The whole subway line does not make sense in this regard.
Could the subway still be a possibility maybe but, I don't think so only because you can only match up a few choice sentences here and there per episode. When I started doing this path back in January I notice that quite a few steles here and there matched up to what the Captain & Crothers were saying. Of course with the winter we had I couldn't go to the park till April and then I pulled out my back then decided to take a break till after Labor Day.
Listen + Play with words + then be visual = landmark.

But we know that tom's clue is the 3 sets of four numbers together, which correspond directly to the lamppost numbers in Central Park. How could you go too far if you're still in the Park? I do believe they were serious when they said the gold isn't there.

I'm not getting what you are saying? Are you flollowing the foot? Tom gives all those lamp post clues way back in Eps. #2 (we'll one if your not forwarding them.) There are no lamp post involved here. There are 4 separte clues he is talking about. Clue #28, 41, 42 and 43. So whatever is going on there applies. You have to go back in the episodes and find whatever clue#28, 41, 42, and 43 is and apply what Crothers is saying. There are no lamp post invloved in this one.

You have to listen to what the characters are saying.

FOR RTD

RTD - Do I think the episodes are out of order. Yes, that part I believe is correct. Yes, I believe that I am further then most people on here. I did figure out the Captain's footpath. This puzzle has many, many parts and I have never done anything like this before in my life. This is harder then sitting in an ex-nun's class. I also have a learning disability so things don't come easy to me. I am also and artist and have also done acting. However, creative people with a learning disability tend to see things different then the average Joe.

I believe that taking a long abscences from this site has greatly help me. I think paying too much attention to anyone else's ideas is not a good idea. Come up with your own first and march to your own drummer.

Rethinking Episode #4

I am rethinking episode #4. Not really sure if it is out of order in my path. This I have to go over with all of the characters. I have to go over it again and see what it leads to. I have started to redo the path and determind that the foot print is not the path but, something else.
I am following the instructions that were given to us and see if that makes sense.
