Perhaps The Rake is the puppet master and Slenderman is the attack dog.
I would probably say the opposite, being that so far, the rake has maimed and killed several life forms in EMH, Slendy really does seem like the Puppet master here

I wasn't exactly referring to EMH though, just the mytho's in general.
I think The Rake could give Slendy a run for his money.

Slendy's always been more terrifying to me personally. Not saying Rakes not scary, but there's something about the rake that's to straight forward for it to be something that surpasses Slendy.

While there aren't many vlogs that I know of focusing on the Rake, there is a small number of blogs that focus on him:
* Auribus tenera lupum is a more mystical-based story.
*The Hunter is about guy who lost his family to the Rake and seeks revenge. It's kind of unclear and nonsensical at first, but the gets better as time goes on (also features Slendy in a major role)
*Nowherever is about a guy who is targeted by the Rake. It's got a good build up and is a pretty quick read.
*Perchance to Dream is about a guy who keeps a dream diary. Another quick read.
*Moonlit Whispers is about someone recording the strange noises he hears at night. It's short and for the some reason the author breaks character in the last post (after the story's ended) and does a credits thing. While it's a blog, the majority of the story is actually in the form of audiologs uploaded onto youtube.

Unfortunatley the effects needed to make a rake, are to hard pull of in a vlog.

The Rake is actually Caliban from the movie "Prospero's Books", a film adaptation of Shakespear's "The Tempest". Obviously he ain't nearly as articulate by the time he appears in Everymanhybrid, and his showmanship has diminished, but he's clearly taken up a career in watching people sleep and mauling them since leaving Prospero's island.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Obviously this is not intended to be taken seriously, but if you check it out, there are some pretty interesting similarities between the Rake and Michael Clark's portrayal of Caliban.
