I think us at Unfiction should try to keep from assuming any exact times tonight. Troy deleted his scheduling post and we have yet to positively know why.

Me, I'm just going to assume that it will be up sometime tonight. That's as specific as I'm going to let myself get.

if it's not up tonight i'm going to assume that they're doing it on purpose to build up anticipation

because they could easily just split the entry into two parts to render it easier, and then just join those parts in another program

True, but then they'd had to render it twice, which would significantly lower the quality. Unless they rendered both pieces as uncompressed .movs, but those take forever to do.

i'd rather have slightly worse 720p (which in MH you wouldn't even be able to tell the difference) than having to wait another day for this entry

I don't even...I just can't.....why don't....why would...how could....but if...

Rendering two seperate videos takes the same amount of time as if you rendered the whole thing as one. It makes no difference. As Foood also said, re-rendering the whole thing together would lessen the quality.

I know I was supposed to be nicer to you, but there is no part about what you said that makes sense.

because then they could upload part 1 now and part 2 whenever they fix it

also judging by the fact that troy even posted that time thing, it makes me think he got the rendering to work

think about it, if it takes an hour to render the first half and an hour the second half, and the problem exists in the second half, they can work on the second half after the first has been uploaded to us

it's probably pushing it but if they really wanted to get it to us fast they could have done that (assuming the rendering problem was in the latter half)

That's assuming the probem is in the second half.

You're just overthinking (*ahem*) the whole thing. There's nothing being simplified by rendering two half-videos.

it's not that we're impatient
it's that troy likes to make promises he can't keep
we're not entitled to anything, but we have the right to be mad that we stayed up a few extra hours than we should have because he said it would be up

im not saying it's troys fault, i'm saying he shouldn't have made the promise until after it started uploading and he had a guaranteed time

Provado is absolutely right. If Troy had never once said when entry 52 would be posted, and we were sitting here tonight, like we are now, still without an entry, I highly doubt there would be anywhere close to the amount of negativity that there is now.

People aren't angry that the entry is late, people are angry that Troy and the gang couldn't stick to their word..again.

Look at EverymanHYBRID for instance. They rarely say when a new video will be posted. It usually takes quite a long time for them to update with a new video and nobody in that thread is really crying about it.

We just want to be able to trust Troy.

PST-wise, what is that for us West-Coasters?

9PM PST if the original post is right, 10 if you mean the above prediction.

Either way is good for me.

I'm not mad at Troy, just disappointed.[/cliche]

But honestly, someone said that we should have expected to be late because it's happened before, but don't you think Troy should have expected to have problems with rendering? This has happened before, but not as bad as it was this time.

I was expecting to watch 52 on Thursday night, then spend my extra-long weekend on homework, reading, and not being lazy. But nooooooooooooo.
All the suffering and procrastination aside, I'm excited for 52 (if I can be sure)

You could try doing that thing were you fall backwards and Troy catches you. That would equal trust +1 at least

If this fight/discussion is going to happen again, can it please be moved to a more appropriate thread? Any of the OT or OOG threads, or the "Post here while..." waiting room thread would probably be better suited. No sarcasm, it would be so very much appreciated.
