[VIDEO] Return
Return- The most important TTA video.

For those of you who need to review it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUI-3lU6bek&feature=channel_video_title

While most TTA videos give vague hints, warnings, and foreshadowing, this one actually spelled something out for us point blank. Jay has interacted with the operator unconsciously, and has no recollection of it outside of it.

Why is this important, you might ask. We already know, after all, that jay has lost memories on several occasions.

Well, dear reader, let us start by thinking of Jay's physical state in the video. He looks clearly exhausted, almost zombie like.

Furthermore, he seems to be doing things he normally would never do.

I would argue that this is the state tim is in when he's in his masky form. He never speaks, and seems to have no recollection of it as he walks about in the day. This video's probably the best proof we've got for the "Masky is a split personality" theory.

i know a mod won't delete this before someone posts so allow me to be the first post

you could have posted this in the season 2 thread. not only is this (pretty bad) speculation but it's not necessary to make a whole topic about it. sorry if this sounds rude.

This here is the biggest mystery in MH, at least for me, so far. I'll repost my off-the-wall theory from some other thread:

In 2006, Jay was involved in at least one disappearing, possibly Tim's. He doesn't remember it because he was being operated just as Alex was/is ("don't follow me!"). Alex and Jay were "chosen" around the events of Entry #5, because they were pretty good friends at the time. Entry #19 and Return were Tim's attempt at disappearing Jay in revenge. Big Op ignored Jay because he used to be his pawn years ago. Tim then decided that if he can't have Jay dead, he'll turn him against Alex by planting the red tower tape and by setting him on Alex's trail. Meanwhile, The Operator proceeded to win Jay back (in his own cosmic ways) in entries #23 and #24.

This would explain why The Operator never seemed to hurt Jay in Return, #23, #40, #46, and assumedly #29; why Tim would rather tackle and stalk Jay than just help him; and also why Alex didn't just murder Jay in #35.

Of course, this sort of falls apart with taking #52's events into consideration...

There was no thread for Return before so this is a welcome addition.

Interesting theory. Yeah, I always wondered about the Operator in J's hallway. Additionally, the encounter J apparently had with him in that boiler room. As for Tim, I'm inclined to agree that he is in a different state of mind when he wears that mask, refusing to speak even when he knows Alex wants to kill him with a rock and J is standing nearby indecisive. I'm curious as to whether or not he has any knowlege of his actions as totheark or not. Also curious as to whether or not he was trying to save J in #52 or if that was just a consequence of his attacking Alex, though it seems like he wouldn't have snuck up on Alex so carefully and pulled him away if he wasn't trying to save J and Jessica.

Previously, there was no video thread for Return. I have retitled this thread to make it that thread.

Sounds good, thanks.

@onetrue: Im not inclined to think Jay had anything to do with slendy during MH, in terms of working with him. 51 seems to confirm this, as it's Alex leading everyone to their dooms. Unless i misinterpreted the post. Correct me if im wrong!

@Geneaux: I think it's really up in the air till season 3, on whether or not Tim wanted to save Jay. I assume he's more trustworthy than Alex, but seeing as that's an assumption and nothing more, I don't have much proof outside of "Well he sure as hell has done more good than harm."

Im also starting to wonder if Jay is a member of the "TTA" group, or rather, an alternate form of him. Since we know he has a possible alternate side, and it seems the same thing was done to him as Tim and Brian, he may have formed a split personality as well.

When in light of the sacrifice of beardman to The Operator by Alex in that tunnel, it really is strange. Jay looks almost dead and this attracts the Operator.

And it must have been to attract The Operator. Why would Tim take Jay there? Does The Operator live there? Unlikely. Presumably it was just a good empty location. So then what did Tim do to Jay? The painted mask is presumably for protection yet Jay looks as though he's dead. Was this "Found you" just bait to attract The Operator somehow? Yet he didn't want Jay to be hurt.

I have to wonder how they lured The Operator there, but "Found You" in context of new entries makes me sure that they did that. And I'm also starting to think Brian or Tim was in the locked room of that house all along during Season 1, cuddling his Slender Doll.

Considering the events of Admission, I wouldn't say it's all that unlikely.
