The one who appears to be a woman almost seems to be anxiously holding her hands together, as a mother would while helplessly watching her child endure something traumatic...

The evidence suggests Aunt Mary is either a reluctant member, a rogue inside the collective, or at least in contact with them. While she's been missing for months, she suddenly contacted Noah right around the time he saw the tall man in his house (all he said was "tall mans in my house. got a call from mary.") It's as if she knew what had just happened, and/or was about to happen. She must have had some kind of insider information, but it is possible that she only heard it from one of the collective, and she very well may not be one of them.

It's hard to tell if we're working up to some big reveal here, or if we're just getting some red herrings. Hopefully we'll get something in the next couple of weeks!

I don't think the thing with Mary is as complicated as all that. There are probably women in the collective, or at least female vessels the collective is using. But I would be very surprised if Mary was part of them. And we don't even know if she was calling about Slenderman in Noah's house. She may have been calling about something else entirely, and just picked a really bad time to do it. We can't really know until Noah gets back and releases the contents of the phone call.

Something I noticed: in both of Observer's twitpics, his "associates" are all standing there watching what is happening to Noah.

The big exception is the Observer themselves - they're looking down and in the opposite direction in the picture of themselves.

Makes me wonder whether it's uncomfortable viewing for them - and, therefore, a chink in their armour. I asked a Formspring question about it.
