1: Caught Not Sleeping. Very original right from the start and keeps getting more creative as it goes on. Plus, top-notch acting from the leads.

2: Dark Harvest. Probably has the best pacing and planning of any vlog out there at the moment - it's hit the point where every single video is significant and tells us something new. The switch to providing less videos but making them longer worked well, and some of the editing stuff they do manages to up the professionalism and drama without wrecking the found footage feel of it, which is extra nice.

3: TribeTwelve. Doesn't update too often but whenever it I begin to doubt it the next update makes me believe all over again.

Honourable Mention: His Collector, the Angel's Game sequel. A little difficult to follow (where's Collector's GF's blog again? I don't think I've ever found it) but still impressive when you consider these are high schoolers putting all this together.

Notable by their absence:

MLAndersen0: I feel they've gotten into kind of a rut with this whole Patrick thing so at the moment they're losing me.

Marble Hornets: Would definitely be on the list (expanding it to 4, probably ranking it up to 1) if I were just considering season 1 but season 2, whilst more professional, is also less groundbreaking and creepy. I'm in it for the scares as well as the plot and season 2 focused on the second a lot and was kind of patchy when it came to the first.

EMH: For a series which supposedly isn't being cancelled they've certainly hit a real nasty rut, with the few tidbits which worm out here and there not really advancing things a whole lot. I keep waiting for them to start updating as regularly as they did in their prime again and it keeps not happening. Has the potential to make a comeback, but the guys either need to get their logistics and scheduling sorted or radically rethink their approach to telling the story to compensate for the constraints they're facing.

Totally agree with your EMH comment. Not so sure I agree with MH though.

1. Punishing Prometheus - a great and relativily unknown vlog (yes, shut up, I've said it a million times) about fifteen year old Erick and his encounters with a very unusual group of people. Plus Slender man. I won't go into, but very atmospheric and dear God, do the creator/creators (?) know how to grip you.
2. The Anderson Chronicles - Michael's difficulties with mental, his strained relationship with his brother of course - Slender man! . I don't mind the Patrick stuff, but I do think it is a little too camp and goes agasint the realism that this series started out with. But, I'm still loving it Smile
3. Marble Hornets - The original series. Still brilliant.
4. Tribe Twelve - it's nearly over! (I think)

1. Marble Hornets- this is the original, most professional and clean-cut i think, probably the easiest for me to follow even though many things are still mysterious and unknown. i really like the isolated feel the entire series has, as well as it used to have the best looking slender man (operator), and the fact that they don't swear is kinda a cherry on top.

2. Dark Harvest- this probably was one of the more frightening/creepy slendy vlogs that i found last year, has a pretty good plot i think and i like the characters and how the script sounds. also some of the best slender man appearances i've ever seen. also, the girl that they just introduced is cute so +1

3. MLAndersen- this one is only number 3 on the list because of how good i think the first half of the story went. good main character and some good scares.

4. Tribe Twelve- This used to be up at probably second favorite but i really don't like the main character at all, swears too dang much and i just don't like the way he talks. great slendy, only one i've seen with tentacles. but the observer videos i think are kinda creepy but not in like... a good way if that makes any sense.

5. Everyman Hybrid- tried to get into this one, i couldn't. makes no sense and takes forever.

Almost put punishing Prometheus on the list, but it's not as good as the other ones. It's not doing anything wrong, and is actually kinda great. Just better vlogs out there

I dislike MLandersen because it's less of a Slendervlog and more of a Jekyll/Hyde Story w/ occasional Slendy.

... How ironic that I would find this thread today, considering I was researching vlogs today in a class for an assignment.

Anyways~

In the first, most coveted spot: We have the classic; Marble Hornets. Ask me this a day ago and you would've gotten a different answer.

But I was re-watching season one today in class. I'm not even up to the (in)famous (and my personal favourite) Entry 17, and I'm already reminded of what makes this vlog so great. The first time I watched it, I was alone, in a dark basement, terrified. So I missed a lot of things. But going through the entries and totheark responses made me realize how effectively suspense was built. For someone who has had her immersion totally destroyed (albeit by my own choosing), the anxiety I felt watching the first fifteen entries was genuine.

I don't get that from anything else.

For the almost as prestigious number two spot: Is both TribeTwelve and everymanHYBRID.

I see a lot of "complaints" about the acting in TT, but I just don't have any issues with it. Maybe it's just me, but I swear like Noah does when I see something out of my peripheral vision. A lot of people are turned off by the phone episode, but the minute Noah's voice breaks as he listens sold me.

Not only that, but the Observer now holds the honour of honestly being the only vlog antagonist who has made me feel genuinely uncomfortable and freaked out. :I

Not only that but the creator is a god of editing and dear sweet JESUS. Having a family member in the business, I can attest to this. Yes. It is THAT good. Worth watching for the effects alone if you can't stomach anything else.

everymanHYBRID. The plot. Dear god, the plot. I have no idea what is going on but I love it and will stick through until the very end until I learn the godamn answers.

In third place, we have both MLAnderson0 and A Pretentious Collection, both of them for acting (though the second for a very specific reason).

MLA's praises have been sung, so I don't think I need to get into it.

But APC? Starts off slow. But then you get to the videos when everything goes to hell. And then in a truly masterful move;

A giant "WHAT THE HELL, VIEWERS?" that really just made me want to curl up and cry. Just... christ. That's the most moved I've ever been by a vlog.

Honourable mentions to 004steps for having some very amusing moments and a good amount of intrigue, and Marblebumblebees (which I feel like I can't count because of it being a parody, but is easily a match for first place with MH for its sheer brilliance).

... and now let's see if I've forgotten anything and will have to ninjaedit later. XD
