 		Ringu was actually based on some light novels, right? So it would be a remake of a remake of an adaption. Unless you count the graphic novels, then it's a remake of a remake of an adaption of an adaption. Confused

he would have no right to roll his eyes if that were the case

but it's not. it clearly says "watch ring." i'm pretty sure after entry 51 he's being more careful with things like that. "watching" would make no sense

if anyones ever seen ring, or the ring, it's a movie about being cursed after watching a tape, which ties directly into MH

 		I don't know about that...to me, all the recent typos suggest that it's reasonable to think he may have just mistyped. It would be different if "ring" was some sort of plot point, but why in god's name would he advertise The Ring in his own series? That's like The Blair Witch Project sneaking references to The Exorcist in the background...

why are you ignoring what i'm saying... the movie the ring has the same premise as marble hornets: guy watches a tape and trouble follows him; jay watches a tape and trouble follows him

Bolded the salient question.

Troy might think that The Ring is the best thing ever and he might be fully aware of the similarities, but why would he tell his faithful viewers to go off and watch another series? It doesn't really make sense.

Remember, the previous word in the credits was "Silent". "Silent" and "Watching" are kinda like the Slendy buzzwords -it's what he does. So it would make sense for Troy to add semi-hidden creepifying messages along those lines. Telling people to go watch The Ring isn't creepy, it's just weird (and not Marble Hornets style weird, either), and doesn't fit in with the ethos of the series.

But yeah, that's my take on it. You're free to have your own, of course. I'm going to stick with assuming it should have been "Watching", and accept that Troy, despite being a decent filmamker, might let the odd typo slip past now and then. Smile

 		What pravado said regarding Verbinski's inexplicably popular yet dreadful film makes no sense, but he is right in saying that the text definitely says watchring and was meant to say watchring, because otherwise this is far too coincidental.

Credit to Randoman96 on Interplosion for first mentioning the idea a few days back.

I take back what I said about it definitely being a typo. Chekhov's gun: it wouldn't make sense to randomly refer to a "ring" if it hadn't already been mentioned in the series. But apparently it has. Shocked

You may be onto something there.
