The bank of washing machines really had me going for a while.
'The Ninth Configuration' looks like an interesting Cuckoo's Nest kinda flick.

I'm @work; so, if anyone wants to jump in, feel free. Otherwise, I'll post one when I get home.

ETA. Just noticed we broke the 500-page barrier with this post!

As a personal preference I like the game to move at a fairly quick pace but if you guys prefer it that way I'll slow it down a little Smile

To confirm it was 'The Ninth Configuration'. I'd never heard of this movie before but it was an interesting movie which I enjoyed watching, definitely worth a watch.

I'll hazard a guess that that's Monument Valley, but is it a cowboy movie or a red herring? Ok I'll bite, how about 'How the West Was Won'?

Really? I checked the list of guessed titles before I posted.

Looks like we have a problem with the spreadsheet

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=902468#902468

ETA: Looks like it stopped at 1000 movies, back in August. I'll get to editing.

ETA2: Editing done.

Edit, next day: Posting a new still now, so ya'll won't have to wait for me to get off work.

I'm totally lacking in my knowledge of Westerns... but I'll take a stab at this... Bend of the River?

Yeah, the river below does have some bends in it.
But, that's not the movie.

Nothing so grand as that. This one was replete with Batman-style camera work and hokey effects.

I'm gonna toss one into the ring:
The Big Country (1958) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051411/

only because I was researching the location and learned about
"Canyon de Chelly National Monument in Arizona ...
The park's distinctive geologic feature, Spider Rock, is a sandstone spire..."

but I haven't found any stills online to match your scenes (yet)

Nobody's got it, yet. I'll post a gimme shot when I get home.
Would it help if I added that the accolades for the list of stars in this one includes at least 10 Oscar wins or nominations for acting? (In other movies, of course).
This flick's only nomination was for Best Original Score
